  1. We favour ABTutor here - very nice product
  2. Unreal Tournament - still playing that online
  3. What do people use to monitor Apple Macs that are on their networks? Just wondrin'...
  4. We use corporate AVG here and have done for about 5 years, when I was desperate to ditch Symantec and didn't have much budget - the central console is clunky as hell to work with, but it does work, and seems to detect stuff. I've switched the web side off, as that was a bit of a hog - but in general - not bad for the price. Alas its a big refresh and it looks like I've got to have Symantec again from the summer - has it improved any in the last 5 years?
  5. Ebay? Our site manager just had a garage clear out and raised over £700 from his Triumph bike parts - some of which he's shipping to Australia!
  6. Are you going to become a salesman?
  7. Quite fancy one of these OpenPandora Has anyone on here had a play?
  8. My fave browser.
  9. From our experience, doing it properly does not include MagicInfo *shudder*
  10. From our experience - you won't save much (if any) money simply by changing from many disparate printers to a few MFDs. Your school SLT will need to buy in to limits and/or charge back to departmental budgets to achieve a behaviour change.
  11. It was not a problem to install. As said - they are happy to send demo disks - however their sales drones will harry you to the grave & beyond
  12. Yeah - and if you rip to "flac" the sound quality is very good
  13. Active Speakers : PC 2.0 Speakers : Maplin
  14. Do you need a solution like the one that was suggested to me here http://www.edugeek.net/forums/how-do-you-do/72587-vmware-esxi-networking-question.html I'm 75% of the way through doing it - but have been dragged off to do other stuff
  15. My mate uses the Squeezebox system - its quite neat if a tad expensive. My media PC is on all day anyway - so thats not a prob linked up to a uP&P NAS for sound & video
  16. Nobody using that Cohaero thing?
  17. Hi - we're up for some serious system updating shortly and one of the shortlisted companies is Viglen - I don't really know much about them - has anyone here been involved in a biggish Viglen project? Did it go OK? Any one used the Cohaero product they push or "Its Learning"? Cheers
  18. Any idea which services?
  19. I would think that to make it cost effective - you would have to wash your hands of all problems relating to the actual laptops - or it would be unmanageable.
  20. Just had it here too - doesn't seem to live through a mandatory profile reboot - thankfully!
  21. Any thoughts on Meru?
  22. Yeah - their customer support & services leave something to be desired, but their products are pretty good - I'm getting a solid 30Mb on my broadband, and the HD is OK - but hard to see any difference on my 32" TV. THe costs are fairly clearly marked, but they are always open to haggling.
  23. I'm not sure I believe that - the bushes seem a lot bigger in the first picture - which seems unlikely..
  24. Don't know if you're using the script to set printers? We had this when we removed printing permissions from a few printers for maintenance - the script failed when trying to set the default and fell through...
  25. Remove write access
