Hi, I am after software that will allow us in the IT department to quickly and easily share and remote control each others screens from within an instant messenger or something along those lines, Already tested: MSN: some features don't work properly Brosix: Couldn't even register even with proxy settings entered Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

[sOLVED] The issue was Novell's Groupwise, Document integration seems to have been the culprit turning it off resolved the issue.

When closing excel (without closing a spreadsheet first) I get the save box if I cancel the box it brings up again, when I close the spreadsheet first and then close excel I get 2 error messages: "SaveNexDoc fails with exception code: Show method of Dialog class Failed" "CloseFunction fails with exception code: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" These messages occur when opening any spreadsheet See attached screenshot:

Hi all, I've just had a Dell Optiplex 280 come into out office with a very strange Beep error code that I can't seem to diagnose even after reading though the error diagnoses sheet for that particular model. The error is as follows: 1long-1long-1short-1long-1long (brief pause) 1long-1long If any of you have had a similar error or can shed some light as to the origin of the error please do so.

Hi, After much surfing on the interwebs for an hint or even indication that someone had tried something similar I've decided to post my query here. Ok so here it is... I need a program very similar to Skype that is capable of sending and receiving video calls as well as voice calls and text; And also is able to send and receive files and that also offers Screen Sharing and Remote Desktop control. Has anyone heard of anything that can do this? P.S. I would just use Skype but it does not offer Remote Desktop control as a feature yet.

well... were not actually a school as such more of a government department, I work in the IT Department for Forestry Tasmania, the only reason I am on this forum is because our network is very similar to a schools and many of the suggestions on this forum apply to our network.

Thank you for so many suggestions, as to answer a few questions that have been raised. Our current IT staff consists of *1 Database Administrator (specialises in Oracle) *3 Information Technology Support Officers (1 specialises in Citrix) *1 Network Administrator (Linux Expert) *1 Team Leader/systems & help desk administrator The laptops would be using a Citrix client to access a virtual desktop & hosted applications if they need to do work on the internal network, other then this there machine is completely separate from the rest of the network. the only things that are allowed through our firewall is Internet and Citrix so as for installing 3rd party software we are not worried, all network usage is monitored and programs can be monitored using Citrix. If you have any more queries please let me know, and I will try to answer them the best I can.

Hi All, We are thinking about saving money on buying new PC's this year and implementing a BOYC policy, I was just wondering if anyone has done something similar and if so what issue did they have and or advice would you give? These PC's would have a Citrix Client installed on them so they would be able to access applications and virtual desktops from there own machine using them as a terminal. Any related advice would be most appreciated.
