Of course - a house is only "worth" what someone will pay for it - any other figure you have in mind is just speculative (& probably hopeful).

Hi I'm sick of buying replacement remote controls for classroom projectors - has anyone got a link to a place that does "security" for them - ie a big cable thats screwed down & stuck on etc. I've seen the Vision & Pixie boxes and will appraise them for rooms where the remotes are already gone - but I'd like a way to ensure more remotes don't go "walkies". Thanks

Our IP phone system is configured such that IP phones need to be on a certain VLAN. You might check other phones and see what IP address they have and if you use VLANs - ensure the socket that you attach to is on the correct VLAN. Good luck

I'd say Panasonic every time - lovely picture. My Mum bought a Panasonic (on my advice) and is very happy - but my Dad went off and bought a Samsung - and he's always regretted it.

We've just put in Resource - looks nice - I used to look after it in a previous job (years ago) and it was OK then - install is neat & easy (unlike FMS) - well worth a look Corero.com - Home and heres a nice accounts comparison site Financial products | Accreditation IT Product Scheme | ICAEW

Take the opportunity to get a "proper" accounting system and get rid of that dated bit a cack - I was so glad when ours went this summer.

External Infrastructure Support - does anyone have any???
SpuffMonkey replied to CyBeRkId2002's topic in Wireless Networks
Have to agree - that our network support contract is the one I'm least happy with - its very expensive, and the firm is never very helpful around the edges of the stipulated contract. -
Yes - its been diabolical for the last couple of weeks - shame - as it had become quite usable

Anyone moved a school before? -Help / Advice / Guidance
SpuffMonkey replied to GregpaulJones's topic in BSF
I'd ditto the inventory and keeping a check - we had a whole lorry load of IT gear disappear in our move - luckily it was old rubbish mainly - but could easily have been expensive new stuff - goodness knows what else disappeared in that move - as we (ICT) were the only ones who drew up inventories & box lists - everyone else just labelled stuff and hoped for the best. -
Yeah - no worries - I've got a free afternoon today!

Cheers guys - we'll have a play and see whats occuring...

Fresh 2003 install, unable to to Update with IE?
SpuffMonkey replied to jmair's topic in Windows Server 2000/2003
Yeah - I'd ditto that - it confused the heck out of me - you need to add your internal apps servers as well - or you can't install software across the network. -
Hi Ric - yes its all 2003 based - I was under the impression that there was a "special" citrix GINA for login - though it'd be great if there weren't.

Here's your excuse for things not working for the next week or so :)

Shame its such a miserable day here - would be great to see the aurora this far south. Saw them once when I lived in Cleethorpes - great sight! -
DivX Convertor - Should it take this long?
SpuffMonkey replied to Dos_Box's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
With my (middling spec) PC - I reckon that conversion takes about half the play time - so a 90 minute film takes around 45-50 minutes. Use DVD DEcryptor to grab the vob files then AviDemux or Super or similar to convert. -
Calling any Citrix gurus... We're running Citrix and sme thin clients here and was wondering if anyone knew how to (or even if it were possible to) hide the domain drop down on the login screen? Our school is changing its name - so we'd like to hide the old domain name (even though its still active in the background) - we've done the windows login without a hassle - but would appreciate any pointers you have for this bit. Cheers
