I got it on Friday but have only managed to play for an hour or so because of the nice weather :-) It seems very impressive so far: I got attacked by bandits and after dispatching most of them, one decided to escape on horse back.. I managed to shoot him in the shoulder with my rifle and he fell off of his horse but got dragged around as his foot was stuck in the stirrups. Lots of fun had by all!

We were sat in the garden last night and I installed skymap. It's amazing, will be playing with it a lot I think.

I have had quite a journey with Windows 7 Deployment in the last couple of months. I've had major issues, broken images, capturing problems, you name it. I have however come through it very satisfied that I can now Create and deploy Windows 7 images with injected drivers, hot fixes with only the odd issue cropping up. I was shown this guide when I first got started, I don't know if it's been linked to on here but here it is anyway. If you are having problems with Windows 7 deployment I strongly recommend you have a look through, I've found it extremely helpful! Some parts lack bits of detail but it's a good place to start. Deploying Windows 7 N.B - It's a 23 odd part article but is split into logical sections to make it easier to find what you're looking for. I also found the following three guides helpful when I couldn't connect to my deployment share. (It turns out the latest Broadcom network drivers were not included in the original boot image so I had to inject them "manually") Mount a WIM image using DISM Add or Remove Drivers using DISM Unmount and Clean up a WIM image using DISM Again, sorry if these guides have already been mentioned.

You could set up burn in test to run at a lower percentage. Although if you're making it look like you're doing work you may not be using your system's resources anyway

Having a command prompt window open that is pinging an ip address on repeat usually looks ok. I don't know about anything "flashier" "Burn In Test" Might work though, does calculations on RAM/CPU etc with nice little graphics.

WOMAD and Reading Festival for me this year. It will be my first time at WOMAD but I'm going with a bunch of people who have been before who would highly recommend it to anyone. This will be my 7th Reading Festival on the trot

Update: FIXED! I finally managed to fix the issue. CaptainJack actually suggested it but I had already fixed it when I saw his reply. I dumped the NIC drivers for those new Broadcom 57xx ethernet chips into the boot image and it started working. It's strange as I have never had to do that with any other network drivers. If anybody else has this problem here are 3 useful links I found that clarified the process. N.B I used DISM rather than Imagex as the latter seemed to cause my PC to crash and burn each time. Right, I have the deployment back working on every other model of machine without any problems. But on the 380 it comes up with the "Cannot connect to deployment share" malarky. I've stripped out drivers and re added them. Everything I can think of but the damn thing just won't connect to the share.

Attached. It matches the driver it was complaining about number for number. It's still broken. Oh, and now other models fail during deployment. This is brilliant oem3.txt

Update: Deleted the copies of drivers and it still didn't work. On Dell's website they had a WinPE cab file that had a bunch of drivers included. I added those and rebuilt the image but alas, it still comes up with the same error message. Has anyone else had this or similar problem?

Where I have been mucking around there are a couple of instances of this particular driver (Broadcom 57xx) so I have deleted the copies. I'll let you know if it makes a difference!

Yeah I updated the deployment share and forced it to renegerate the boot image, it still isn't working. One thing we are going to try and do is install Windows 7 onto the machine using the DVD, extract the drivers and create a new image from that machine. If we do that and it works on the other models we have I will be happy. (Yet Raged that it didn't work in the first place).
