  1. The battery life isn't great. My NC10 has the 7-8 hour 6 cell version and it's well worth upgrading if you can
  2. It's pretty pricey when you could probably buy a whiteboard for less. Does anyone know what the paint actually is? It might be possible to make up some of it DIY style.
  3. When I was at University we had a department called Information Services that did a lot of network management which included: Giving students / staff access to WiFi and RESLAN. Keeping the anti virus up to date and anything else that involves the Uni network. It was a massive department as they had to look after around 5000 first year students on RESLAN as well as all the departments and schools that used it. They did a fair share of admin work too so it ended up being quite a large scope in terms of what they did.
  4. I've also had Windows 7 on my NC10 for ages and it runs brilliantly. I wouldn't dream of trying Vista on it.
  5. My quad core 2.4Ghz processor (Intel) runs everything I can throw at it. Running Windows 7 on it and playing games with no problems at all. A very good cpu if you ask me
  6. I've been here since July but that's still new enough to introduce myself. I'm James and I've just finished Uni. I'm now working as an ICT Tech at a secondary school in Swindon. Hi everybody!
  7. Tag: Fatmas Playing: Fifa 09, Halo 3, BF1943. Will be playing: Fifa 10, Halo ODST
  8. I completely agree with you on that. My 2.4Ghz Quad Core only cost £150 and it still runs everything without any problems. Put the money towards graphics and RAM instead.

    Fifa 10 demo

    Don't buy it then.

    Fifa 10 demo

The Fifa 10 demo is available on XBLM (and I presume, PSN). Has anybody else played it and if so, what do they think? Personally gameplay feels much more natural than Fifa 09 and passing and movement feels fluid. The demo only allows 3 minutes per half but I was still really impressed with it. Now I'm looking forward to it even more!
  11. It's worth spending a bit more on graphics cards to get one that lasts. I got my 8800gt 1024mb over a year ago for £100 - £150 (Can't remember exact price!) and it runs everything on high - highest settings. Even Crysis..
  12. Thanks everyone for the recommendations! Simon, I've emailed you details of what we need.
  13. How does everyone get hold of printer consumables? I know this may have been covered before but can anybody recommend a consumable supplier who is not only reliable in terms of deliveries but is also good value? I've just been made responsible for the toners and cartridges around the school and have been told that the school are keen to find a new, good value supplier for our consumables. We have around 1100 students on our roll (11-16) and do a fair bit of printing across all departments. The supplier also needs to be able to handle big and small orders as some departments use barely anything while others seem to guzzle our cartridge supply. I'm also looking at tracking what each department uses to try and curb excessive printing. As an extra point to note, we tend to prefer original cartridges but can use compatible if they are good enough. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! EDIT: We have details on a couple of suppliers but haven't dealt with them before. (Office Lines and Inksout)
  14. Add me and I'll take you to school "Fatmas" Ahh banter.. Fifa 10 should be ace
  15. Another game that looks interesting if you like RPG's/Shooters/Spy games: Alpha Protocol. Not out for a couple of months but could be one to watch.
  16. I haven't had a Nintendo since the N64 days and good times they were. *Nostalgic*
  17. It does look amazing but alas, I don't have a DS
  18. Operation Flashpoint 2 does look good, as does Arkham Asylum. Anyone else hoping Max Payne 3 is released before too long?
  19. Mine is Fatmas. You can usually find me playing Fifa 09, Halo 3, or Battlefield 1943
  20. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the next few months in terms of gaming but look at the following "big name" releases towards the end of this year: Modern Warfare 2, Halo ODST, Fifa 10 / Pro Evo 10 (Whichever camp you fall into), Just Cause 2, Bad Company 2, Forza 3, Guitar Hero 47:The Killers Comeback Tour, Left For Dead 2, Assassins Creed 2. Notice the amount of sequels? It does worry me that there is an apparent lack of original titles. A lot of developers seem to be phoning in sequals lately and that isn't always a good thing. Anybody know of many original titles that are looking good for end of year release?
  21. I got the HTC Magic through Vodafone last week and it's brilliant: Touchscreen, WiFi, Android. It's also got loads of apps available and since Android is open source, most of them are free. I'm not sure if you can get it through Orange though but I highly recommend it if you can.
