I definitely agree with that. But then the amount of people I know who rely on partners/parents/the garage to do very basic car upkeep is pretty staggering.

But they don't actually need to. Take the car as an example: When they were first invented they were horribly complex. Over the years, and after standardisations and regulation overseeing things like safety, people just use them. The vast majority of people who drive have no interest whatsoever in how fuel and air mixes and ignites to turn the camshaft. Or how the exhaust from the engine is used to spin up a turbo, compressing more air into the engine for extra power. Or any of a hundred other little things. It's only us geeks that want to look under the hood! If a system designed for the general population is obviously complex just by looking at it, then the designers weren't doing their job right.

We own everything apart from the servers and the core switches. I'm looking after roughly 250 machines, plus 15 laptops. Spiceworks has been on the network for over a year, so it has a pretty comprehensive list of everything. I just need to go through it and separate the free stuff from the paid stuff.

Would it be possible to add a button to clone a task? I have some tasks that are identical, save for the location being searched. Being able to create the first one and duplicate the rest would be a handy feature! Also, when you add an exclusion to the search path, all subfolders are listed. How easy would it be to turn that list into a tree, so that you can click on the root and hide all subfolders? Would make deleting the whole lot easier if you've made a mistake. Other than those very minor items, an excellent utility!
