We have a member of my local cricket team i play for who has done 40 years service. I have been put in charge of getting a Clock to go on the wall to commemorate this acheivement. Any ideas where to start? I'm thinking of something like a 10" clock on wood with a small plaque underneath? My Google skills have failed me!

Can't you put a cab on the wall and mount it in that?

TBH I have to agree with you - I did't go with Webanywhere (was something like 10k for 3 years and it has to run on physical hardware separate to the web server!). The main pitfalls are just making sure the user accounts etc match up with the Sims names i.e somebody in AD/Moodle is called Joe and in Sims Joseph etc etc

Themes make it look better - personally i don't like the metro style look (not liking metro doesn't help!). I prefer having the sections defined by lines rather then just looking too plain.

Go into Ad Sites and services - select site and expand the DC you will get NTDS settings at which point right click and there is a tickbox.

Dave - they are setup correctly - I've put a Watchguard at times into the same router at both ends (different ip's) - watchguards stay up fortinets don't - its not that they are constantly going down but they need restarting every week/10 days or so to bring back the vpn's which would rule out it being the re-key as its far to long a period to be those. So theres something pete tong with the devices. We have them plugged into devices which can be remotely reset and that fixes them. But the sooner they are out the better in my opinion but its not my choice. Its each to there own i guess

Branch office VPN seems completely unreliable with them (and its not the net link between I've tested that) perhaps it could just be the 15 or so I've worked with. They are fairly straight forward to setup - but then i find that with most firewalls when you understand what you are doing.

Perhaps i've just been unlucky - they are ok when they work - configuring them is a nightmare when you compare to items such as Watchguards etc

Exchange 2k7 - yes other users can mail the person on a Mac fine - so I presume its not an Exchange issue but more a Client issue.

Just between those two users - happens when sending both from the mac and from the pc

You can print barcodes on a normal printer - there is a plugin for Excel which will generate them and just print those to labels. Barcode Generator for Microsoft® Office. EDIT: - just noticed thats not free!

I've got a client with a strange issue - from what I can see everywhere is outlook is set to send as HTML but for one particular email address its sending as RTF and the other end has a Mac which doesn't like the the RTF file and adds the Winmail.dat file as an attachment. Under Options - Mail - its set to HTML - the end is set as HTML etc Anybody any ideas?

this is supposedly coming to the S3 in Q4 2012 - there is far to much not supported at the moment for me to but it on myself!!

Your are right next to an exchange (well 0.5 miles away) which isn't that badly provided - see here. You might even be able to get a decent EFM connection which will be a lot cheaper.

Unfortuantly that is life! Some secondary schools have plenty of money to spend - some don't. I know my old place had a budget of around 150k pa but then there was 950 desktops. 40 printers, 35 servers (mix of physical/virtual) - had around 8tb front end storage with 32tb backend - 100 projectors - Radio station - 8 digital signage screens etc etc. 1800 users.

M247 Top notch at my last place was pukka - @psillars And yeah ditch WSGFL its awful best thing I did for my old school! EDIT: If I remember the SLA correctly you have to give them at least 6 months notice if you want to cancel mid term - although it is only a year contract with them.

What Anti-Virus do you run? The likes of McAfee etc have started pushing the spam filtering to the cloud bundled with products.

I can't remember but a good place to look would be the local Sims.ini file in C:\windows - don't have access to sims anymore to check.
