SIP trunks are pretty good IMHO - I moved my last place over to them - We had a 100mb leased line into the school and never had a problem with SIP. We then got a single Analogue line run into the office incase of power failure otherwise we would have had to UPS for 45 mins Phone server, Firewall, Routers, Switches, phones etc etc which got expensive and easier just to have a failover line in the office. At my new work we use lines from Natterbox which is a hosted PBX.

Nice to see the death of Windows SBS!!!! By the looks of it they are pushing them to 365/google Apps/Alternative such as Zimbra << I'm hoping! EDIT: So does that mean with a Standard License you get to use it on a dual socket CPU? or is it done on the cores i.e if you have a dual 6 core xeon (12 cores) you need 6 licenses?

If they are using internally then the FTE count should be ok I beleive - I think you might need the PDF that @Millgate was talking about.

Some of my clients who where affected are 5 people in a front room type businesses - all our large customers are not silly enough to use BT. I just got a flurry for phonecalls from various sites and lots of emails telling me agents where unable to be contacted on our monitoring system.

If going for a seperate switch you need to get one which supports Jumbo frames.

I have a couple of clients with dual HP2810's for redundancy 4 nics trunked between the two and each controller has a network cable in each again same with the VM hosts - VM hosts have PCI and onboard cards again one in each for redundancy.

was about 15/20 mins - is it a business line? not sure if home network was affected. It appeared to be a the very core of the network HOP 7 was down.

Enterprise ones so not too bad - they had no failures in the first year of it sitting there! Software Raid 5 raid 1 on the OS drives (250gb sata).

It didn't for me first time around - broadband appears to have come back now! Although originally it said expected ETA 3pm! who unplugged the routers?

i think we have managed to kill BT just by a load of edugeeks running speed tests!

Yup - the NM doesn't know what it does so thinks replace it so it doesn't break.

Air Server - do you just want to display the Ipad on the screen? Install that on the Desktops and the just display the ipad through the PC - requires a wireless signal from the ipad through the network to the desktop works well and free
