Yeah I can see that struggling. Can't say I have had any issues with them. Although have to say I'm quite impressed with the Equallogics at the moment especially there tie ins with VMware. Just tell it you want a lun it goes away creates it and maps it to all vm hosts in the cluster or just the specified host - saves a lot of hassle!

I ran 30 VM's off one FC! and currently am replacing one ISCSI for a client which runs around 20 servers and 50 Vmware View clients. Which version did you have the FC or ISCSI? One thing to mention though - the P2000 is not supported in VMware ESXI 5.0. Hence the reason I am replacing the ISCSI one with a Dell Equallogic.

Personally Sans are the way forward in Terms when Virtualizing. Plus with Modern day processors and ram being so cheap you can setup a 3 node cluster with failover including a SAN very easily for 25/30k. Personally I would be looking at HP DL360's Dual 6 Core Xeons with about 100Gb ram in each host (they can take 768GB). Then either a 10GB ISCSI or 8Gb FC SAN or Switched SAS (being the cheapest i believe). I wouldn't want to be running an entire school on something that is out of warranty.

Yes just setup the zone as that then when create the record leave the name blank and just put in the IP it will then give it as the name - similar to what you see for DC's in an AD zone.

You would need the hostname to be correct if the cert is to work. Alternatively you can setup a external hostname but connect to the internal address via setting up a zone for it on your DNS server.

You don't have to be a qualified teacher to teach. You can go in as a Trainer (i think thats the term). In which you have suitable qualifications to teach the subject just not have QTS status. The school has to prove there is nobody better suited to the roll then you though.
