  1. New update due to be released this month. Improved party function and game invites. They've basically tried to make it more like the 360 because so many people complained about the new set up. Classic case of if it aint broke, don't fix it. Also sounds like some of the headsets people have will work again. Xbox One March update adds Dolby Digital optical audio support | Polygon Theres a video link on there too, shows you how it will work. It does look a lot better.
  2. I'm in a similar situation. Our internet speed is awful now and our supplier just says there's no problem with the line. What sort of average download speed would you expect from a 100mbps line?
  3. I'm sick of iPads. £400 web browser.
  4. I've got Sky Fibre Optic and its worked well for me, get about 30mb download speed. It's the only ISP i've had fibre with so can't give you any comparison. Their customer service isnt great though, it was really hard to get any sort of deal and spent a long time on the phone. I hate to think what their technical support line is like, but the Engineers are alright when you get one.
  5. I think you'll find i'd be APMerry Poppins
  6. With the weather as it is, an Umbrella would probably be a big hit!
  7. We've got one of those Dolce Gusto coffee machines in the office, I have a small stash of espresso for the hard days but normally just drink tea. I don't like instant coffee like nescafe so head over to the local cafe or starbucks if I fancy one.
  8. Nothing like a good bath before bed to relax you. I'm also having dodgy sleep this week, got off the plane from Australia Monday evening and was in the shower at 6am for work the next day. Been up before by 4am every day so far, damn jetlag!!

    Ill people

Now that's gonna make you ill!
  10. My tracker thing doesn't work very well. Says one's in Hampshire and the rest are in Essex, they're all sitting in my office (not in Hampshire or Essex) *facepalm*

I kind of get what you mean. Although it does depend how bad you are. I struggle to work at home, i'm easily distracted by shiny things.

    Ill people

I'm always wishing for a day off ill because I imagine it to be just a duvet day playing xbox and watching tv...... then i'm actually ill and im either on my death bed wishing for it all to end or bored out of brain by lunch time.
  13. THIS! Ha, I've had a go with Meraki and the Apple configurator and both will do what you want. Meraki probably gets my vote for being online though.
  14. My brother's got one, I'm not a fan of the interface at all. It really depends what the main purpose of it is, I've got the classic Kindle and love it for reading books and find it much less strain on the eyes than reading off a screen. As stated above, the kindle App is available on Android and IOS devices which gives you access to all your kindle purchases.
  15. I've been really disappointed by the X1, mainly because i gave it such a big build up. It's very temperamental and seems to have lots of little issues that wernt on the 360. I'm confident they will all be sorted eventually, but it's not a great experience at the moment.
  16. It is kind of annoying that these things aren't ready on release. I don't really use my Turtle Beach for chat, just like the surround sound for Movies or if I'm playing single player so it doesn't bother me too much. Having said that, I do like the new headset, the sound quality of voice seems a lot better than the 360's and the buttons for mute and volume are very nice. It is a bit awkward to unplug though, I feel like I'm going to break it if I'm not careful!
  17. Mine just records random events. Got loads of sweaty goals and average saves filling up my HDD.

  19. They want to make it the hub of your living room.... It's very easy to watch tv through it but try inviting someone to your game. They've ruined my favourite party of the Xbox, the party's!
  20. Anyone else excited?

    Ipad invasion

That's an excellent point! We had endless trouble with our proxy server and authentication, the iPad likes asking for your credentials over and over again. We ended up getting a smoothwall and setting up a transparent proxy, a lot of Apps don't like proxy settings so a transparent proxy is the way to go.

I was in your situation the summer before last. Best thing I can suggest is get yourself one and play, play play. If they're just for staff then I cant imagine there's a great deal to manage in terms of restrictions. You just need to decide how you want to manage the Apple ID's and the Apps they're buying. Obviously you don't want to be putting the school credit card info onto a staff apple ID as you know what people are like with passwords. When we first gave iPads to staff it was as a trial, we bought some iTunes vouchers and gave every department an apple ID with £20 on for them to buy some apps. I've been using Meraki to manage profiles on them, but I'm planning on an overhaul of the iPads as I keep seeing people say (as above) that apple have improved this side of things a lot.
  23. My school actually advertised for the job. I think you'll find some places will advertise specifically for an apprentice where as others might not realise how useful an apprentice can be until they have one. That's where volunteering comes in, it's a great way to get your foot in the door and shows you're serious. As I said, just keep your eyes pealed. If you do get a job, you'll be surprised how quickly you can become an important team member.
