Are you setting it up yourself? You just need a mac server, they now sell mac minis with osx server installed, says they're £850 on apple store website. We have the magic triangle set up here. It works, but i wouldnt recommend it. The only reason we've got it is for logic. Staff will expect them to work the same as your PC's....... they dont.

Hi, Does anyone have any thin client stations in a classroom? We're looking a trialling thin client for teacher classroom PCs but i'm confused about whether or not they will work with an interactive projector or whiteboard. We have an RM CC4 network so are looking at the Wyse RM Thin client, it has 4 usb ports but i don't know if the interactive funcion will work properly on a thin client. Anyone used these?

Once i set it on the admin account, it was ticked for everyone else that logged in, if you want to push it across to all machines i guess you'd have to find the registry entry and apply through gpo. I've only done it on a couple manually.

Does anyone know of a website that sells laptop charging cabinets that arent hideous? All i can find is the standard metal cabinets in bright colours. I'm looking for a cabinet that can charge and be locked but is made of wood, or atleast has a wood effect so it can match to the rooms furniture. Can't be the only one looking for this sort of thing can i?

Does anyone use edmodo? Got a mystery issue where a teacher says it just stops working when marking work and have to close IE and re-open before it works again. No error messages apear and i cant re-create the problem for the life of me. Just interested if anyone else has any experience with Edmodo and if they've had similar issues. I Hate problems like this. Cheers.

Not on SWGFL but ours has randomly stopped working too, same error. Noticed if you download the latest version there is a new option in the tools, general menu which forces you to us a secure connection. If I tick this box it works.

Couldnt find anything on this, hoping someone can help me. Does anyone know how to block embedded flash videos using the disable software function on RM Tutor? I've blocked every version of flash i can think of but still kids are able to view videos on any website that isnt blocked. Any ideas?

I was going to move to GiffGaff but when I asked for a PAC code Vodafone matched GiffGaff - the £10 a month deal. I think I get something like 600 minutes 500mb data and unlimited texts.

They haven't been in long enough. The fault seems to happen after a certain amount of use and all replacements have been made in the last 9 months.

Volume purchase program is good for buying apps in bulk, but only if you're buying them for many accounts, the pricing is a bit silly though. If you buy 19 you are charged full price but as soon you buy 20+ you get them all half price so it's actually cheaper to buy 20 than it is to buy 19.

Mainboard drivers? It could be a problem with the USB port. I would try it on another PC to determine if the problem is the PC or USB Adapter.

I wouldnt recommend Jailbreaking them! I use Meraki, its free and enables you to manage them online. There isnt many restrictions you can apply but they're not designed to be restricted. If you've only got 10 you can set up a single apple ID, you can buy an app and install it onto 10 different iPads using the same account. Also - What ages group are using them? I would recommend disabling the camera, teenagers like to take stupid pictures of themselves and set them as the background. Meraki lets you quickly re-enable it if its needed.

Has anyone else experienced problems with these projectors? We have them in most classrooms and have had about 6 die this academic year (projectors are approx 1-2 years old). They've come with a 3 year warranty so epson have just replaced them but they all seem to be developing the same fault - Projector takes a long time to turn on, the fan starts spinning heavily and the lamp light comes on after a few minutes. After changing the lamp this was still happening. Epson seem to know of the problem because as soon as you describe it to them they send someone out to replace it.

I ended up getting RM on it. They made changes to the SSL certificate, i couldnt tell you what those changes were though. Basically the CAG wasnt set up properly. RM to the rescue! Sorry i cant be of more help.

Working on this during half term. I've created a new SSID called Kindle with no authentication and still doesnt connect. I've tried just about every channel and even tried an old D-Link access point with no luck. Kindles Suck big time! This is obviously very common as i've found loads of forums and website talking about it, but no one seems to have an actual answer other than "that's how they're made". Amazon need to sort it out.

You need to go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local. The drivers should be in there. Copy them out and then go to device manger and update drivers, browse my computer, let me choose from a list of drivers on my machine, then add the drivers in here. Thats how i got it working, this will force the device to use the drivers you specify. It should come up as a printer when youve done it.

I'm cofident we can get round the proxy issue, but the Wi-Fi is a different story. Thanks for the input guys!

Works fine on my home Wi-Fi too. I might give a go at removing the hyphen as that's just about the only thing i havent tried. The proxy is another issue, surely the device should still connect to the netwok even if it doesnt have internet access? Glad to know im not alone with these awful things!

Has anyone else had trouble connecting kindles to their Wi-Fi? I've read there is a problem with Kindles connecting to enterprise networks but im wondering how other people using them have got them working.... The kindles can see the SSID but just tells me i cant connect. All suggestions welcome, Thanks

Thanks for the help. RM suggested the same thing when i finally got hold of them. Still having a problem though, apparently smart client doesnt work for 64bit version and there isnt a build for it yet either. RM are still happy to sell PCs with over 4gb of RAM and ship them with 32 bit OS.
