  1. Yeah, If you're 19 soon you're better off waiting. You can still do a CBT and ride a 125 with L Plates until then.
  2. Pretty you can do A2 direct access at 19. https://www.gov.uk/ride-motorcycle-moped/bike-categories-ages-and-licence-requirements
  3. The A1 license is not really worth it IMO. You'd still be limited to a 125, so the test is kind of a waste of money unless you're really bothered about having L Plates. You'd need to take the test again when you're 19 to get an A2 and then again when you're 21 to get unrestricted.
  4. Security might be something to consider too.Not sure what it's like where you are, but bike theft is terrible here in London, a colleague had his Yamaha stolen from outside the front of school (inside school grounds). The thieves casually strolled up on a scooter, took them barely a minute to break the steering lock and ride off with it. Carrying chains is not cool.
  5. A bike is a great way to commute, give the CBT a go and see how you feel about it. If you do commit to a 125, buy a used one. Things like the CBF and YBR hold there value pretty well. I would recommend getting your full license still, the extra hours training will be really valuable and seeing as you don't drive you're much more likely to have an accident jumping straight onto a bike with no road experience. There's also the itch that will inevitably come of wanting to move up (which is why i said buy used). I did a year on a 125 and have had my 500 for nearly 2 years now, the itch is there again. If you're on any roads that are national speed limit or even 50mph a 125 isn't great. Sure it can do those speeds but you'll be at the peak of it's power and it's a bit hairy (especially in winter).
  6. Just did exactly that and it worked. Silly Me.
  7. Does the .EXE method still work? It's not for me with the latest version.
  8. Have sent you a link.
  9. PM me your email and i'll send them over.
  10. I've worked in 2 RM schools (including the 1 i'm currently at) and I've found their support to be a bit hit and miss recently. You generally get through to 1st line who ask a lot of basic questions and get you to try things you've probably already done. Having said that, if you can get passed this 1st line barrier the 2nd/3rd line support guys are pretty good and I've found it very beneficial having someone I can call for things like our Meru network.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions, it's not actually for filming underwater. I think it's to record technique and then show back to the students so a GoPro or regular camera probably wont cut it. I'll take a look at the aquapac cases.
  12. Our rowing coaches are using iPads to film and one of them ended up at the bottom of the Thames last week. Has anyone used or can recommend a good case for this kind of use? There's loads on amazon, the lifeproof ones look good but they cost nearly as much as the iPad does.
  13. There was a firmware update recently which i'm yet to install, but the previous firmware updates made little to no improvement to mine.
  14. How did this go for you? We did the same thing in September in 60 classrooms, cant say I recommend it.
  15. We've got these installed in 60 classrooms and I think a lot of staff have given up using them. We think the drops are down to interference from different sources and the schools wifi network. It would be nice if Microsoft made it possible to select which channel the device uses, it jumps on whatever one it feels like at the time. Miracast over Ethernet sounds interesting..... I've looked at a few solutions like We Present and Barco Clickshare for connecting to a TV over ethernet, I found both had a pretty poor quality picture compared to the display adapter. They don't drop connection though.
  16. Thanks, I cant actually get anything to display, just a blank screen. Should I be able to put those iSAMS training xmls into a feed and get something out? they come out blank too. I've seen a few xibo forum articles about trouble using xml feeds over https,
  17. Just getting into Xibo, have you managed to get iSAMS daily bulletin RSS feeds to work? Struggling to get Xibo to display them.
  18. Has anyone had experience of using a paid digital signage solution such as UCView? I've just installed Xibo and really like the look of it, just curious if anyone's used a paid solution and what you get that Xibo doesn't give you?
  19. Just came across the same problem, trying to give some surfaces to staff but can't install any apps without a Microsoft ID. Microsoft seem to treat Office 365 accounts differently from Microsoft ID's, so they cant use their school email account. It would seem Microsoft are a few years behind Apple in mobile deployment??
  20. Have I missed something?... I'm trying to use miracast to cast a microsoft surface to a screen that doesnt have an HDMI input. As I understand Chromecast also uses HDMI and not VGA? When i try connecting the casting device (in this case, Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter) to a VGA converter in order to connect to the screen I just get a blank black screen. It seems to detect an input but there is no picture. I'm wondering if anyone has come across this issue before
  21. Has anyone tried using a Microsoft Wireless display adapter and a VGA converter? I've got an issue where the projector is quite old and only had a VGA input. I've tried with the VGA/HDMI converters i have but it doesn't work, just wondered if anyone had any success?
  22. Is anyone familiar with the new subscription method of using sketchbook Pro? I bought a copy of the old version of Sketchbook Pro for my classbank iPads a few years ago but have only just realised it no longer exists on the app store, so my VPP purchase is now useless. Autodesk have replaced the App with a new free version where you need to subscribe to get the Pro tools. Does anyone use this subscription? I'm interested in how much it costs and what are the licensing restrictions, do I need to buy 1 per device or does the subscription cover all devices? Any info would be appreciated, Cheers!
  23. Thanks for the replies. Will give that a try Gareth... cheers
  24. Apologies if this has been asked before, I couldn't find it. Does anyone know if you can configure Chromebooks to auto login to a specific account? Basically what i'm trying to do is lock down a bank of Chromebooks to 1 specific account per device so students cant login to their own google account. Any info would be appreciated, chromebooks scare me Thanks
