Do your self a favour and stick with joomla. Or don't have a website. Either would be prefered. In all seriousness it's likely to have been a member of staff with little knowledge of building websites and did the best that they could at the time, not all schools are blessed with geniuses like us.

I've known issues like this on various printers. Again I've know it to be various problems, damp paper included. I've also known it to be bluetac/Chewing gum. blocking the paper at one side, therefore causing the paper to jam and in cases wrap round the fuser.

All that and we don't even find out where Bournemouth went? Rip Off!

This is true, but I'd always install Ubuntu and FOG on an old dekstop machine that's lying around somewhere.

As Stated It's not ideal to have WDS and WSUS on one server, as we're a one server school, Linux and FOG was really our only option. As Hightower says it's easier to install Ubuntu desktop and get FOG installed than it is to install Windows Server (IMO anyways).

+1 for fog. I have windows, office, SIMS, and a few other essential bits eg Adobe reader flash etc. Also after deployment it renames itself and joins active directory. I dont even have to get up to image a machine now. I probably wouldn't need to get out of bed (unless there was a network fault).

A teacher has just come to me mentioning unsuitable image results from using the term 'fox'. A quick search reveals that, whilst not terrible, primary school students should not have access to images like these. I've blocked the term fox all together here but I think everyone should be aware of this.

If you wanted FOG to run along side it, you could keep it seperate and set up FOG to be DHCP and DNS and connect it to a single switch with the target macihnes. In effect a small network used solely for imaging. This can then travel around from school to school without altering scope settings on each DHCP server and messing around with IP settings on the FOG server (assuming the FOG server will be portable, rather that one at each school).

I usually run the sysprep setup tool thing and tell it to auto generate a random name, along with entering all our licence info etc. for a fully unattended setup. Make sure the fog service and windows support tools are installed, along with the recompiled hostnamechanger.dll for the password encryption. Hopefully after doing all that it should work. Another thing I've also tripped up on in the past it forgetting to tick the 'join to active directory' on the host from within the FOG management console.

Did you run sysprep prior to uploading the image to fog?

Once it's all set up correctly you can image a machine, rename it, join it to the domain and place it in the correct OU all from the comfort of your own home (belive me, I've done it).

Have you tried it with IE8? Just to see if the problem persists?

Sounds like the shop equivilant of a Ryan Air flight.

It could also be the 'Desktop Folder' permissions. Make sure the required groups have at least read access to this folder.

If the profiles are mandatory the setting would reset each logon, but the resolution is staying after initially setting it. If it's just one laptop that's the issue, as a work around I'd suggest the qres in startup folder idea.

Do you have this laptop hooked up to an external display? Mainly a projector that is wanting a 800X600 resolution? ** Sorry, just re-read your first post and you say you don't have an external monitor attached. Ignore this **

I'm no expert in this type of thing, but from reading the line No space left on device at /usr/share/perl5/HTML/Mason/Compiler/ToObject.pm line 107 context: could it be permissions on a particular folder or actually low on space?

Can tell it's friday afternoon, I did terrible.

Maybe that's why it will not play. YouTube is blocked here. So if it's linking to youtube that would explain it.

Just tried it and it won't work in chrome or IE9 for me either.
