Hi All, We've recently set up XIBO, mainly to display powerpoints created by staff. Obviously XIBO can do a lot more than this. I want to put a RSS feed to one side, I can set this up no problem. The issue is what RSS feed to use. Up to now I've had the local BBC news feed but it all seems like morbid news, nothing that would really interest staff, students and visitors. Any suggestions from people for a good RSS feed to use. I should mention we are a Primary School so can't have anything that younger students shouldn't really see. Thanks, Dan

Main proxy is provided by YHGfL which I think uses squid (don't quote me). For student traffic monitoring and blocking the ocasional website we use Smoothwall Express in house.

I'm Full time, support two primary schools. One school is one DC, a few web servers and ~100 clients, the other school is two DCs, SIMS server, a few webservers and ~100 clients.

Hi All, I had set our internal helpdesk to snow during December and by coincidence that was the first day it actually started to snow (outside). This got me thinking how great it would be to have a style based on the current weather conditions. I've had a quick google and found the yahoo weather xml thingy but that seems to be only for the US. Does anyone know how to do this for the UK? Thanks all, Dan

Hi, I've set the newest Adobe Reader to deploy, but I could not find a script to fully remove V4.

Our Sassoon Infant in school came with Clicker 5. The teacher's Sassoon Primary was bought stand alone by her AFAIK.

What is the legality of this? Sassoon Primary and Infant are paid for fonts. Thanks

Hi all, Some teachers here use the Sassoon Primary font at home which we don't have in school. We do however have Sassoon Infant (there's very little difference). When opening a document that has been created at home in Sassoon Primary it selects a new font (usually times new roman or a handwriting font), is there anyway (preferably site wide) to make the font it changes to, to Sassoon Infant?

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can save me some work. On our image both adobe reader 4 and 9 are installed (some old software installed it). Now when trying to open a pdf in IE it trys to open it with v4, when opening a locally saved pdf it opens in v9. Uninstalling both versions then installing v9 works, but I don't want to go round each machine and do this. I know I should have checked before rolling out the image and I have learnt from my mistake and will double check in future images. I also don't want to re-image all machines. Does anyone know if there is a registry setting that tells IE which program to open pdf files with? Or any other suggestions welcome. Thanks, Dan

I think the 'offsite' location of a secondary DC and backup location is good enough. Just give examples of what might happen if everything was in one location.

I'm not sure you can using the shutdown.exe command. I use psshutdown to do it here which I know there is a switch to cancel it. Plus you can specify a text file list of computers so you dont have to have one per line in a .bat file. Hope this helps.

Thanks, the clean install isn't much of an issue as I just used the csv import to add my items, and as it's still beta I guess it's to be expected. Howdy do, Another snag I've hit with v3.0 is when setting holiday dates that end midweek, say on a monday, the whole week is marked down as a holiday. For example, after xmas we come back on the 3rd which is a Monday, I've put this in and the rest of the week is also marked down as holiday. I also had a bit of trouble upgrading, but as I'm not using it live yet I did a clean install which worked fine. Apart from that all is good.

Yes this would be fine for me personally as uploading files isn't too difficult. Maybe a few versions down the line an image uploader could be built in? Thanks, Dan
