@CyberNerd - we have released an Android version
-
@CyberNerd - there is something about an app's responsiveness that people prefer as is evidenced by the popularity of the stores.
-
@jmak - I'm afraid its a question of targeting resources where they are most likely to find traction. There seem to be a lot of schools that have bought iPads and are now in search of applications! I actually prefer the W8 designs! Who knows maybe one day the leading tablet platform may well not be Apple!
-
@jmak - what is true is that iPads at present are the first platform we release for. W8 & Android are developed next; Assessment is due on these platforms in September.
-
@CyberNerd we have specially targeted tablet devices rather than PCs. W8 tablets are very cheap and in our view could take off - why pay >£300 for an iPad when a W8 tablet is <£100? and can be managed using standard tools. The fact that a W8 tablet app runs on a W8 PC is a happy co-incidence although the App looks good in that environment. Whilst Chromebooks have taken off in the US, the last time I saw UK figures they weren't that great. We haven't seen demand from our schools for a Chrome version. In my experience a port will reveal differences that will need to be addressed. If demand occurs we will of course consider the environment.
-
Android & W8 currently support registration, rewards & sanctions. Next submission to stores is end of August and that will include mark sheets. We haven't ported to Chrome.

Storing digital copy of Intervention Widget output
PhilNeal replied to Morven's topic in MIS Systems
The graph on the Pupil Teacher View only displays for the current year. The interventions data is still available from the behaviour management area though. -
We've submitted the next version of the Teacher App to Apple which offers non-teacher access. Permissions in SIMS are strictly enforced.
-
Stat Returns - there are lots of them An effective school improvement tool - attendance, assessment & behaviour Provides efficiencies in terms of staff time & resources Provides essential tools to perform the back office function - admissions, timetable, exam entries, fees (if Indy) Provides effective parental/pupil engagement function

I'll have to ask! -

I don't think so. We didn't envisage this being stored away from the pupil record. -
I'd say the virtual environment is incorrectly configured.
-
I'd be grateful for a steer on what our release notes are missing. I thought we'd detailed fairly throughly the changes that have been implemented?
-
I'd say it's safe but we aren't "protecting" this ID. AdNo is what I'd use but this isn't available to pre admission pupils
-
I just searched "DfE UPN" and "ICO UPN" and there's lots of guidance available. DfE have advised MIS suppliers that this is a blind number that should not appear on reports. ULNs apply from 16 years old I believe, as the UPN can't be used after that. Please ask ICO what you can use instead of UPN!
-
You won't have a happy assistant head if the ICO learns that the UPN is being used inappropriately! You need to be really careful about outputting the UPN as the ICO is very sensitive about it being used for any purpose other than sending data to DfE. They caution against it being used to link systems or identify pupils internally.

@GREED have you left Group Call or something?
-
Our view (right or wrong) was that everybody has an email account from MS or Google and that this was the right option to offer. There were technical reasons too for not using the SIMS login I believe but can't recall what they were.
-
There are several ID options. Google, Live_ID & O365.
-
Understood!
-
Please raise a case. This should not be happening!
-
Thanks @Homeland. There were special circumstances around this case. Please don't hesitate to escalate to a manager if you don't get a response. I realise that shouldn't be necessary but sometimes things do go wrong.
