  1. Thanks for the replies guys, I will have a look :-) I know its not the LEA as we are nothing to do with them what so ever and have no other firewall than the smoothwall box.
  2. Now you see that's what i thought and what you would think is logical but he sure did say internal IP, I went away to do another job and when I came back he was gone so none the wiser till he returns on Wednesday.
  3. Sorry if this is a stupid question but having never done this before thought I would ask for a little advice, We have just had CCTV fitted and I have given the supplier an internal static IP address, he has asked if we can forward ports 85,554 & 8000 to that IP address so they can connect in remotely. So how do I create the port forwarding rules to enable them to connect in remotely and view the cameras ???
  4. We currently install profiles onto our ipad 2's via apple configurator then deploy apps and restrictions via lightspeed which has always worked very well until the recent release of ios 9.0.1, one of our classes decided to update 32 of the ipads and since then when you click on an app it opens then immediately closes again. The only apps that appear to work are the ones supplied with ios, I have narrowed it down to the ios version as we also have 15 of the same ipad still on ios 8 and they work fine, I have tried wiping them and re-configuring them with apples configurator and lightspeed but still the same conclusion. Really stuck now as we have 32 ipads that are only of use with pre-installed apps, has anyone else come across this problem or am i unique :-)
  5. No using domain\administrator account, I have found if I manually install SIMS on the laptop then do the manual agent it will then work but surley that defeats the object of solus 3
  6. Hey Guys, Has anyone seen this issue before and how did you get round it if you don't mine me asking, I have deployed the solus 3 agent to all the admin team and staff laptops this morning, 75% have worked fine with no issues the rest just seem to fail and say 'the remote machine cannot be contacted'. the firewall is switched off and anti-virus has been disabled I can ping the client and the client can ping the server the IP address is correct I can route to the workstation without needing additional credentials I have checked the log on the server and this is what it records. 2015-07-16 13:19:31.7709|Info|Executing command InstallAgent for computer name jpeck-lt.********.sch.uk net.tcp://IP address:52966/. 2015-07-16 13:19:31.8079|Info|jpeck-lt.********.sch.uk Looking for target OS 2015-07-16 13:19:31.8079|Info|Attempting to create ConnectionOptions with username='administrator' 2015-07-16 13:19:52.8700|Info|jpeck-lt.********.sch.uk Installation worker completed. I have even tried deploying the agent to a laptop that already has SIMS installed but still receive the same error, even a manual install of the agent doesn't resolve the issue. Really stumped but trying to sort it before I contact Capita.
  7. Thank you for all your help the call has now been resolved.
  8. Can I ask is anyone else having problems with Capita support recently ?? I logged a call Saturday morning (yes it's sad I know) Had a reply on the Monday after school hours saying they wanted to do a remote session to resolve the problem, fine I said and informed them of the schools opening hours to connect the next day to which the reply was ' Excellent, look forward to speaking with you then ' but now 2 days later and still nothing I even added a note to the call asking for an update and still nothing, just wondered if anybody else has had issues before I complain to our account manager as its a fault I need sorting by Friday.
  9. Hi Everyone, I am looking to implement a school calendar and would like to integrate it with Outlook 2013 if possible, we currently use gmail as our choice of email and even with the syncing tools this has its faults i.e. Everyone is signed into the same calendar so everyone get reminders for things that don't involve them anyone can delete someone else's appointments (as they are in as the same user) I am wanting if possible in addition to using it in Outlook using it on the ipads as well, if there is an app for the ipad and a link to Outlook for the laptops that would be great, if anyone can recommend anything for me to look at that would be great.

    3D Printers

Are there any schools out there using 3D printers for the children at Primary level and if so how do you incorporate them into a lesson ??? What model printer do you use, any pitfalls you may have experienced etc. Also if any are in the Lincolnshire area I would love to pop and pay a visit.
  11. Morning Everyone, Please feel free to move this if it's in the wrong section, is anyone using Big Ant IM in school, it's appears to be working fine for us with the exception of around 5 user accounts that will not auto sign in for some reason. If I cancel the auto sign in and sign in manually it works fine, I have re-created the use account and still nothing, changed the address to the servers IP in case it was a DNS issue but still nothing, we are within our licence for the amount of users and even though I have emailed Big Ant the response and technical support is not the best. Just fishing for ideas on how to sort this guys or does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative internal messenger system. Cheers.
  12. Hi Guys, Please feel free to move this if its in the wrong section, I am looking to enhance the children's experience within programming from the norm i.e. scratch and tynker etc. So I want to get the children interested and intend to start by teaching them simple programming with a ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 Emulator before moving on to Raspberry PI etc. Does anyone know the best place to acquire the emulators from as the only ones I have found at the moment need paying for and I know it's tight but don't want to pay for them if possible :-)
  13. Afternoon everyone, One of the teachers in our Reception classes has asked for the second part to this video; I have searched and searched for this to no avail, we used to have the original videos but they have long gone it would appear, does anybody have a copy of this please or no where I can acquire it from at the very least.
  14. I really do want to stress that the purpose of this thread is not to have a go at Very-PC in any way whatsoever we have 100 of their thinbooks in the school and this is only a small amount that have had this issue. The guys at Very-PC both technical and non-technical have been in constant communication to try and resolve this issue, the main purpose of the thread was so see if anyone else has had the issue before or could maybe point me in a direction I had not previously thought of to try and help resolve the fault. Once again I cannot stress enough this is in no way a dig at Very-PC just a cry for help trying to resolve the fault, I do apologise to everyone at Very-PC if that's the way this thread appears.
  15. Just spoke to Very-PC and a chap called Tom who informs me that they think it's a fault with the batteries and are looking into it now.
