  1. The main thing that used to distinguish FMS was central payments, a system exclusive to local authorities. Whilst secondary schools used local payment options, many primary schools initiated a purchase that was paid through the LA payment system
  2. I should escalate this issue inside ESS - the problem is highly unlikely to be SQL version related!!
  3. FMS can use personnel data in SIMS at any time to calculate staff salary commitments.
  4. Secondary vs primary pricing?
  5. This could be a design feature! I seem to remember leavers appear for assessment/reporting purposes for 30 days their leaving date.
  6. Here's the link that I saw it on https://www.educationinvestor.co.uk/
  7. Arbor & ScholarPack are being merged now. Exciting times!
  8. I'm pretty certain that none are SIMS!
  9. Nick that would be what I would expect but I'm not an insider anymore! FMS is definitely a ESS product. I doubt if SIMS Finance is included in the sale but as it was adapted by ESS to suit the academy market, I'd expect some sort of reseller arrangement.
  10. No but I'd expect a reseller agreement to be put in place.
  11. Paul, you are correct. One used to be ESS but hasn't been for >3years
  12. I left Capita over 3 years ago!
  13. There are lot of interlinked tables within SIMS. You would need to use the Capita APIs to manage the data or you will incur charges if you get it wrong - not to mention the GDPR issues that could occur if you don't get the links right. The free app does it all and provides a means of passing a massive management issue from admin staff to parents.
  14. SIMS has a free (at least when I was there) add-on Parents App Lite which allows parents to update and maintain their own data. There is an approvals process which allows the admin staff to accept or reject changes.
