Discover feeds back Discover Groups so they can be used as filters throughout SIMS

We're using Azure to host SIMS and it is cost effective - however beware it is very easy to run up unexpected bills if you forget to turn down resources when you don't require them. One of our teams ran up a £7K bill as they didn't turn off resources over the Christmas break.

I've had a quick word with the Product Manager. The best report is unexplained absences - which you probably already knew!

@tben2505 - I've checked and you are right. They chose not to auto-alert parents just in case the issue was the register hadn't been taken. I've suggested that staff might require this. I'll ask a bit more - I think there is an attendance widget that lists absences.

I share that feeling. Something that I never imagined we'd require. Of course it could be a pupil using a staff log on?

Deleting a marksheet will not remove assessments which exist in their own right.

bwfc_Nottingham - We're working on the next generation of software and will take this aspect into account. I don't think this change is likely to hit the current version of SIMS as so many other priorities are already in the pipeline.

The steer from Ofsted/Government is to create fewer assessment opportunities. Is this something to refer to your curriculum deputy?

This was years ago! They got the right to use it- not to reissue or dissemble. A number of retired support staff provided schools with assistance.

This screen comes from the "InTouch General Message" area.

There is an option to add staff via role.

We tested this on Autumn 2015 and can't reproduce it. You can see Name, Gender, Staff Code, Current Timetabled Class. If you are on Autumn 2015 please log a case.

No its not correct - this was a bug that I thought we'd resolved.

Staff with roles should appear i.e. Head of Year. Recommend you log a case and speak to someone.

Contacts are automatically defined when you link a person to a pupil.

@Ecclesbury Double periods should only require one registration but we did have some schools that experienced this issue on iOS. The release on Wednesday resolves the problem. Also sorry @ctbjs I got the per pupil price wrong - it's £2.00/pupil not £2.50.

Here's the update: PRB11652\1508-3368857: Messaging widget causing crash due to Out of Handles error after several hours. The intension is to include the fix in the spring release. Crash due Out of Memory error, pointing to a potential memory leak in the Student Details screen. We've asked the developers to check this out. Thanks Phil

@minimoo I've asked our developers for an update as I alerted them to this thread a while ago. Thanks for reporting issues! Many years ago I did programme - at one point SIMS was all my own work. Sadly I don't code any more!!

@ctbjs - there is an annual per pupil cost £2.50 with a minimum of £200 and max of £2,500.
