I've sorted down to two - it's between Action1 & Heimdal. Both seem to be very similar

Whats the pricing like for action1? Is it per device, or per admin?

report on system specs (cpu,ram,storage,os version,last logins etc..) report on installed software, ability to push out software updates / install software - ideally cloud based but on prem hosted is fine too

Recommend me some patching/asset management software. I've just had a demo with Heimdal, just wondering what other options are about & what others are using in Education. I've heard that PDQ deploy is good. Endpoints / Servers combined we're looking at around 400 devices in total

I let WU handle drivers too - unless it's some specific hardware that requires a specific driver

I've set a reg key to force the classic right click menu & another to force compact spacing in the file explorer

I'm sure i've heard of people pushing the update out through WuFB by setting the feature edition to "24H2". Not tested myself though!

FYI : To disable windows recall you can do so using the new 24H2 admx. I don't trust it, so it's getting disabled for now. User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows AI > Turn off saving snapshots for Windows (ENABLE)

Is it affecting a single user, or every user? Specific machine, or any machine? Turn on verbose login messages to see what it is hanging on. could be a group policy, could be a problem with the image, this should give you a starting point Roaming profiles - i'd look to move away from these - we use local profiles now & they're spot on. First time login takes less than a minute, subsequent logins take ~30 seconds

Mosyle is actually cheaper too if you do opt for the paid version. I agree it has plenty of features, we used the free version for well over a year with no issue. (on a class set of 34 iPads)

Yea something is definitely a miss, somewhere! I've checked the vending machines & there doesn't appear to be a switch inside, just a vending controller. They literally come online for less than a minute, then stop communicating with the cashless server. Haven't got any further troubleshooting as of yet, been a busy day today.. Just done a brief monitor of the VLAN with wireshark & there seems to be STP packets appearing every 2 seconds or so. Don't know how normal that is tbh

On the vending machines? No - both have static IP's not in a DHCP range. I'm just checking now to see if there are any duplicates on the main network

Having strange issue with two vending machines we received recently, which I think it stemming from a broadcast storm / STP. The vending machines link to our cashless system & are on their own VLAN on the network. After a minute or so the vending machines go offline. We do have STP enabled on all of our switches. RSTP on edge switches, MSTP on the core. Root bridge is set as the core with priority 0, edge switches have default priority 0x8000. I hopped on the VLAN the vending machines are on & looked at traffic using wireshark - I could see a fair few STP packets coming from the core - I'm thinking the vending machines are getting flooded with packets & are going into some sort of error state. A reboot briefly brings them back online, then they go offline again. I'm not having issues with any other device on the network, but something isn't right & I'd like to get to the bottom of it. Best way to isolate the problem? I'm thinking just unplugging the edge switch uplinks from the core during out of hours to see if anything settles down. If I look at any switch, all of the activity lights flash in unison. This is the same on any network device (core switch, edge switch, firewall, ISP router)

Obviously I also played Classic when that came about I played on Frostwhisper EU Alliance & Ravencrest EU Alliance - Mained a Mage but also played Paladin/Rogue at max level

You should be able to get 365 apps for faculty for pennies through your Microsoft reseller. We paid 2pence per licence last year. We're still on A1 for all staff & use that in conjunction with a mix of Office 2021 Pro & 365 Apps for Ent

The two I have personally used are AB Tutor & Senso. Senso is what we currently use, it's great for remote support being cloud based. However, does have a few issues & requires some firewall config to get working correctly. (even then some modules dont function 100%, such as the broadcast, theres a thread on here somewhere mentioning it) AB Tutor is local/cloud - Last time I used it was 2021 on an older version (version 7 if i remember correctly) - never had a single issue with it, cant comment on recent versions/cloud version

It wont auto upgrade if you have a target edition set, plus if the machine is not compatible it wont matter anyway. Windows 10 keys are the same as 11 & vice versa

No offence but if you're looking for an "experienced individual" i'd maybe revise the pay scale..
