Hello Has anyone had any issues with 24H2 and networking? A handful of our computers has updated it self and now the network has now stopped working. I've reinstalled the network drives works for 30 seconds and stops, Nothing jumping out in the event viewer. Only i found so far is to roll back to 23H2. Both Dell and a Lenovo laptop with a USB-C network cable and internal wireless card with the same fault. I just checked my desktop and it running 24H2 without any issues... (so far) Any idea?

basically this used to work out the box using a GPO would encrypt the drive after joining the domain... works fine with our previous win 11 image which was probably 21H2 as we quickly went back to Win 10. Win10 it also works absolutely fine. Now it doesn't if you then try and manually turn it on ie right click c drive and turn on BitLocker it says The path specified in the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) for a BitLocker Drive Encryption integrity-protected application is incorrect There is a thread here that I have added too https://forums.fogproject.org/topic/17704/unable-to-encrypt-drives-with-bitlocker-after-deploying-image-with-fog/6 We have tried the BCDedit suggestions in the post and also tried this which I found elsewhere on the internet as possible fixes Tried separately and together these changes which are suggestions I came across on the net. group policy editor -> computer config -> admin templates -> windows components -> bitlocker drive encryption -> os drives -> config TPM for UEFI. PCR 0,2,11 Ticked (i.e. remove 4) AND OR group policy editor -> computer config -> admin templates -> windows components -> bitlocker drive encryption -> os drives -> Allow Secure Boot for integrity validation Disable Does anyone that uses fog tried to deploy 24H2 and noticed BitLocker failing for them? I am sure it relates to the fact that using fog means we disable secure boot ☹

Anyone just started getting problems with Bluetooth phone connection? Noticed yesterday that Dynamic Lock wasn't working at one site where the BT dongle keeps having to be unplugged/re-plugged. After un/reinstalling the driver, it wouldn't even see the phone, though the phone could see the PC. Same problem today at a different site. Unfortunately now that the devices won't talk to each other I can't test if it's just Dynamic Lock that is the problem.

We've purchased a YeaLink WH62 (MSTeams flavour) for a user here. Plug the device in via USB, devices appear in device manager If I fire up a Teams test call, the base station lights up, the headset icon turns green, and if I press the pre-programmed mute button on the headset, the mute light toggles on and off. Wunderbar! .. except, there's no audio input. Output works. I can hear the test teams man tell me to record a message, but there's no mic. Finish the call, end up with this message: Windows settings shows the device, but the volume is fixed at 0. If I move the slider, it jitteringly resets to 0. Sound settings in old-style control panel show the device, but there's no volume bar next to it. If I go into the Properties, Levels, the levels page is blank. The typical Microphone array slider isn't there. If I set the device to Listen, no audio plays back. In the Yealink USB Connect software, I've set the Call Device to be Soft Phone and PC Softphone Teams rather than its default Desk phone (which I assume requires the other USB port to be plugged into a physical hardlined or IP phone), and successfully loaded the latest firmware. I've disabled Automatically adjust mic sensitivity in Teams and ensured Microphone is set to Headset Microphone (Yealink WH62) Pulling my hair out over this one. I found one page that said don't use Yealink USB Connect, but that bore no fruit. Edit: Oh, and, yes, we've confirmed the microphone works on a non-Windows device. Much to my chagrin. Edit2: It works on Windows 10 Why does it work on 10 and not 11

I've just downloaded the latest W11 ISO from the MS Admin centre (double checked it was W11 Education) and upon installing this, in System, it shows it as Windows 11 Pro, is this correct behaviour? Regards

Howdy all, As I had mentioned before I am looking at ways to locally enforce either a blank start menu on our Windows 11 Education clients like we have with Windows 10 or redirect one somehow. The main thing holding us back is the pinned items. We have the Microsoft Store disabled in our GPO but of course Windows 11 is just ignoring that setting. Another pin that would cause us no end of grief is the Outlook (new) and Microsoft 365 (Office). Like a lot of U.S. school systems we have sold our soul to Google and MUST use the Chrome browser and Gmail. No exceptions (even our filtering system requires Chrome). The settings gear is OK to leave because it at least won't open up due to the GPO. As I had mentioned before we have a very small staff with no outside help we can contact. We don't even have a community college in our county we could bounce things off off so to speak. I want to kick things off with 24H2 so we don't have to worry about a major update in the near future. What we really need is the ability to lock these few remaining pins out locally, but I want to be able to remove the entire pinned section if possible. Even if we had the money to get rolling with Microsoft's "Intune" online management system (which we don't) we really don't have the spare staff to assign to the task. I was wondering if any of y'all knew of any links you would be willing to share of sites that deal with this sort of thing. Funny thing is I tracked down a post at the Microsoft Learn College dealing with redirecting the Start Menu of Windows 11 and the Microsoft employee listed the procedure for Windows 10 which does not work with Windows 11. I realize that Microsoft is currently being run by children that were never spanked but I was hoping someone might know an adult that was still in the room. Thanks for any and all replies.

Hey all, Going through beginning to roll out Windows 11 but having trouble with the WiFi. Essentially, the WiFi is deployed via GPO and the PC won't auto connect, If I click the network icon and click the WiFi SSID I want, I then get an error Continue Connect? If you expect to find (Insert SSID here) in this location, go ahead and connect. Otherwise, it may be a different network with the same name. Show certificate details. When running on Windows 10, the devices connect to the WiFi fine and if I connect to another SSID with a passcode, it'll connect just fine. I've already disabled credential guard but this hasn't worked. Anyone else come across this?

Hi all, Hope you are well. I am testing Windows 11 at my school. I have updated the templates and using mostly the existing Windows 10 GPOs, rather than creating a new Win11 OU. On my testing I don't have right click on, desktop, file explorer, anything. I can't see any errors in eventvwr anyone else had this? Any ideas? Thanks

Hi all, Just as a test I updated my PC to 24H2 so we can use it in earnest before rolling it out from January, however my lovely G5 PC has stopped playing sound through the headphone socket. Now this is fine by me as i have a USB speaker, however we have an IT suite full of these things for students and they wont recognise headphones as an output. I have unistalled and reinstalled drivers, made my way through the forums and HP support assisstant but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello! I’m unfortunately having to move our Class devices & office devices, anything that isn’t going to move on-site to a Hybrid AD deployment as we’ve been having a range of issues with Cloud only, particularly printers… I’ve got the connector for it all setup and I know it works. But, when I come to deploy a device on MDT, I don’t sysprep or anything like that as those days are over for me, I have been able to just deploy the device on a fresh image, and it join the domain, got the GPO setup for automatic enrolment and set to user credentials. One thing I’m concerned with, is that I’d have to wait until someone has logged into that PC for it then to install apps. I just wondered whether there was a way around this? I know I can use the domain join profile in Intune with Autopilot for Existing Devices template on MDT but I can’t get around the 15 characters limit, nothing I put in works. Any ideas? Thanks 🙂 Zak

Howdy all, First time posting here so I hope I don't cause too much trouble. I work for a small school system with VERY limited I.T. staff and knowledge. The powers that be will not hire qualified personnel so guys like me have to try to use duct tape and bailing wire to keep things working. The one guy that sort of knew a lot of what I am trying to do was "retired". I am a low level technician that has been asked to look into rolling out Windows 11 (I have built our images for a few years now). With that out of the way I'll describe what I have been tasked to do. We have very limited Windows usage here (most everything is Chrome OS now) but have a few select areas where Windows will remain. Currently on our Windows 10 Education workstations we have Desktop, Documents, and Downloads redirected to our file servers and BLANK start menus (XML file redirection). Nothing on them except for the power button and user icon for shutting down and logging off. We only want users launching applications that we have placed shortcuts to on these read only redirected Desktops. I have been instructed to keep this scenario with Windows 11 Education. We do not use Intune or any type of cloud management, just Group Policy from the AD servers. I'm not against creating a custom list of pinned apps but that is a luxury for another day. I have been able to clean off the "Recommended" and "All Apps" (Start Menu) sections with Group Policy. It seems that it is impossible to remove the "Pinned" section using GP. I have looked into several of the hacks on this site and others but it appears that they have been broken with 24H2. Has anyone found a way to accomplish what I am looking for? I thought about just blocking some of the pins with GP but 24H2 just seems to ignore those settings. For example we have had Microsoft Store blocked with GP since we went to Windows 10 but when I log in as a student or teacher on Win 11 24H2 it is there plain as day and I can open it up and start browsing around. Thanks in advance for your time and patience.
