I doubt it, but who knows. This is microsoft we're talking about. I wouldn't put anything past them with all of the crap they've pulled since Win11. (who the hell thought recall was a good idea?) At the very least i'll be purchasing 1 years worth of extended support for Win10

Most likely be cheaper to go direct with M$ & extend the support for X years.

HDMI to DP Cables for CleverTouch IWB
Olliedawg replied to talksr's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
What about using an adapter instead? I used to use these on our older HP EliteOne AIO's which only had a DP port & no HDMI. I'm on v12.1.2.172 , which according to that forum post is the most up to date version. Seems I am not alone & is affecting other Sophos/Veeam users

Updated to Veeam B&R v12 last week, all gone super well. Noticed today that i've been getting Malware Detections for the following I'm running scans on the affected machines. From what i've looked up online on a Veeam forum, people are recommending adding that path to an exception. Just wondering if anyone else on here has come across this. I panicked a bit when I first saw it! potential malware activity detected: *.purge(Globe):1 | Veeam Community Resource Hub

I bet that sounds awesome What about the fuel bills, never mind the tax!

Hah nice! What engine is in that? Americans love their big CC's

I've used shredOS to wipe drives which held sensitive data before. However lots of good suggestions here. Encrypting the drive + physically destroying it is your best bet I think!

Sophos XGS - Invalid Traffic for certain domain
Olliedawg replied to Olliedawg's topic in Wired Networks
Hi Lee, Our XGS is with yourselves! I did submit a ticket as well as posting here. Ticket was resolved in the end! I believe it was Alistair who helped me It turned out to be a combination of an ISP issue & the domain " jackets.dmmserver.com " being blocked! -
Been asked to look at getting a couple of TV's set up in our changing rooms for PE staff to use, projecting from their laptop. These would obviously need some sort of encasing, or at least a protruding plastic cover over the front. Anyone recommend anything? Or have set up something similar?

Is BitLocker encryption compulsory for schools?
Olliedawg replied to aia125's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
At the very very least, you should be doing all laptops as they are frequently taken off site. Otherwise, anyone could just rip out the storage drive, plug it into another machnie & access everything on the local drive. -
Had the meeting this morning with Tuscani - went well & was happy with what was shown. SchoolGrid never got back to us so thats out the window now

We use 365 apps for staff, devices are Domain joined / Hybrid Entra. The only time I've ever had problems with licencing is when a device hasn't properly registered with Entra (stuck in pending state for example..) Has only happened once or twice - worth checking if it's a fresh image you are testing on Pending devices in Microsoft Entra ID - Azure | Microsoft Learn

I knew what this post was about before I clicked on it

I've got a demo with Tuscani tomorrow morning - so will see how that goes! Reviews look good.. School BM is dealing with SchoolGrid as she enquired direct to them

I'll pop Tucasi an email , cheers!

that’s what I thought too - I haven’t been given a massive amount of information to be honest, just to look into something as Kingswood manage it all for the primary currently. I don’t think it actually needs to integrate with a MIS which opens up more options. not a bad idea regarding parentpay, will keep that in mind! Will see what Schoolsgrid comes back with also, their site looks promising
-
Any recommendations for a cloud platform to handle the following - List catering menus to parents via app/website - Take online payments for school dinners - Integrate with MIS *beneficial* A primary school we are taking on in september is currently with Kingswood, so we need to find something to accomodate.. They don't use Bromcom, otherwise we would have gone with MCAS cashless SchoolGrid looks promising at a glance, have contacted them for more information

Trying to access the site : http://www.brownsbfs.co.uk I can see in the firewall logs that the IP related to that domain gets denied - logged as "Invalid Traffic" - Could not associate packet to any connection. This is the same for student, staff & also tried on a clientless user, still the same. Tried adding the site to the exceptions list, still the same. Any ideas? The site works on my mobile using 5G, however it is very slow to initially load!

I had this conundrum last year.. the solution we came up with was getting teachers to share the powerpoint/other lesson content with the student via Teams, which the student can open on the iPad & follow along with the lesson

Good place to start - create a new user & place in the same OU as the user who is having problems. Then you can start looking at policies. Enable verbose GPO to see details of what is taking so long on the login process

+1 for the sysinternals autologon tool

Senso does work well enough for us overall - i'll admit broadcast can be hit and miss sometimes though (only hitting about 80% of the class 1st try) I'm keen to see what Senso V2 brings.
