Hi all, Got our ISP renewal order coming up in Jan. Got loads of good quotes but I wanted to see what BGFL are quoting per year. I need a reference in an upcoming meeting. We left BGFL 3 years ago and never looked back. I cant imagine they have improved in service or cost. The last renewal price was about £12000 for a primary, 500 kids, on a 10/100 leased line - no extras. Anyone ? Cheers in advance

When you deleted the roaming profile did you: Check that she hadn't logged onto that PC before and checked for a local copy of her profile Delete any local copies of the profile Delete the reg key in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and delete the users entry. Still sounds like driver to me though.

Have you tried deleting all the files in C:\Windows\system32\spool ... reboot and reinstalling the printers ???

If you haven't yet completed the DNS setup for your 'custom' domain O365 won't assign that domain to sync'd users. You need to migrate that or another domain name first. Also for all migrating AD users, they require that the domain name in AD matches the one in the cloud. You can accomplish this with creating a domain suffix in AD and selecting the appropriate domain on the users Account tab. Users who require an alias, in addition to supplying the correct domain, the ProxyAddress needs to be set on the Attribute Editor tab. Enter two entries: Main account should read: SMTP:[email protected] Alias(es) shoudl read: smtp:[email protected]. Again both domains need to be set up and verified in O365 if they want to send mail from that alias, otherwise the MX record of the 2nd domain needs to be amended to point to O365.. Hope this helps

4-5K will get you a very decent VHost. You dont have to run 2. 1 is as reliable as any other normal server. Depends how mission critical it is and what your setting is. I only put a 2nd host in over the summer. Didnt have any problems before that but one came up spare.

I got shot down ages ago on here by saying - 'Why! would you want to virtualise Windows on what is essentially a Windows platform' - Super double-trouble. I wouldnt touch it after using VMWare (which isnt the best at times but its MEGA stable.

Are you clustering with VMWare there @Norphy. Whats the product that looks after that failover ?

We run VMWare and as far as I know you cant backup the host. Theres no need because it takes such little time to install and should be run from an SD/USB card anyway. Make a copy. The config is backed up in the VM that does the host management. Not sure about the MS method tho'. We're fully VM'd except a physical DC (massive emergency) and a whopping big file server (thats being VM'd soon), and some NAS's

I've got two hosts. Veeam Backup and Replication handles the backup from host-1 and also copies (replicates) the machine to host-2. Host-1 goes down, fire up the machines on host-2 - Sorted. As long as you backup/replicate regularly (like 6 times per working day here) you minimise data loss. Or restore a backup to host-1 if the VM fails e.g. Windoze bombs out.

I thought Apple classroom had a login screen for shared ipads. I think in either case you might need both @Bev. TBH do you really want to send them home with the ability to install apps? I'm thinking William Hill, Betfair, etc etc etc. I'd compile a list of approved apps with the staff that aligned with their curriculum topics and push those out via DEP. Then also have an apple id to use icloud so you can track them when they go missing.

In Endpoint can you restore individual files from a disk or volume backups then? I haven't used it much.

Thats quick... but its incremental. Is that files, disks or volumes?

Hi all, I have a physical file server with about 2TB of users data on it. Acronis Backup & Recovery is running incremental backups every night.... but it's awful and keeps letting me down again and again so it has to go. This is my last physical server and realistically can't VM it before Easter. In the meantime I'm thinking of Veeam Endpoint Backup on it backing up to a Veeam B&R repository in full fat Veeam. Now, to keep the backup size/time down I've split my Acronis backups into several separate jobs e.g. Pupils data, Desktops, My Docs etc etc. I can't see how staring at it, but can you set up multiple file level backup jobs in Endpoint? It looks to me that you can only have one job configured at any time full stop. Anyone know different ? Cheers in advance EDIT: Or in Veeam B&R can Endpoint be used as an agent for triggering backups. Would be a great feature if so.
