Y they aren't linked to a particular active VM. Do read up on it first. I've deleted them before without issue. You may be different. e.g. don't do it on my say so. I'd get support to walk you through it if I were you. They can certainly be removed though.

I'b be looking at German. Personally VW/Audi - Definitely can't go wrong with a Golf.. For that money you could get a nice Jag maybe Lexus if you go a bit older. It looks too old for UEFI actually. Read up on flashing the BIOS. Its not difficult. You need a USB stick, the appropriate bios image and whatever bootloader they have on their support pages. Personally I'd junk the machine. Windows 7 will run appallingly on that.

You could try Veeam Agent for Linux. It will back up the entire machine in increments, Virtualbox and all. And its free. https://www.veeam.com/linux-backup-free.html Snapshots ruin performance and they are not a valid backup solution.

Hi all, I was buying fairly cheap 2m Xenta flat lightening cables @ about £4 from a couple of vendors. I've run out, come to order some and cannot find any cheap-ish cables anywhere. £5.50 for a 0.25m cable ?? Come on!?! Anyone got a supplier I can get some from ? Seems to be a shortage out there. Hi all, Hopefully someone has this working somewhere! We've had loads of power outages and a sub station go bang recently, generators on the street, and its playing havoc with my hosts not shutting down cleanly - or starting up again! I have a PCNS 4.2 virtual appliance that just will not talk nicely with vCenter or my (2) hosts. PCNS logs seemingly state all is well .... this is after a reboot this morning .... but VCenter says otherwise.... I've tried setting up a common user on vCenter, each host, and PCNS but I can't get them to play together. At the moment I'm trying the single sign on account but I get the same error as I do with the common account. I'm not using AD authentication in vCenter and don't particularly want to if I can avoid it. Any idea's anyone ?? Hair is being yanked out by the fistful! Cheers in advance

Cheers m8. That makes sense. Not sure the firewall rule will work work beacause we're also on a flat network. I'll be VLAN ing over the summer so may leave it until then and use that method. Cheers for suggestions

Hi all, Got a small dilemma here. We're running an old-ish Ruckus Zonedirector 1100. I have guest wifi set up and running fine. On our Smoothwall I have a custom block page configured that displays whenever the filter kicks in. By default, guest wifi on the ZD110 blocks traffic to the same subnet the ZD is on.... hence it can't contact the web server on Smoothwall to pick up the block page. Everything is on the same subnet ! Anyone got this set up and working or suggest a workaround?? Cheers in advance

There should be a red/amber light on the front of the disk to warn you of a drive failure - on the rack versions at least. My old adaptec RAID card was sounding a beep yesterday after a lengthy power cut. Poo came out.

I stated this about Exa.... That was too harsh. They were actually really helpful. Their packages just didn't suit us at the time.

RM and Schools broadband (IMO) are probably the two worst you could think to choose. I remember RM from way back - never for me and I've read woes about SB. Virgins support is sub-dreadful but the product is good and steady -- until it isn't. Go for a Virgin reseller - they will be cheaper than dealing directly with Virgin for the same product. Exa tried to give me the hard sell. Because of that they didn't get the deal -- didn't trust their support would hold up. I saved £4000 over 3 years using Zen Internet this time around replacing a Virgin line with the same virgin line. Zen are very good. Wave 9 seemed decent when I spoke to them. Also compare the prices for another filtering solution. Just 'cos you have Smoothwall now doesn't mean it's the be all and end all. Sophos looked damn good when I trialed it. I tend to avoid BT and their resellers. Service support is no good.

Are they picking up IPs from DHCP - e.g have they factory reset ? I've got a few SG200's that haven't retained their settings when rebooted in the past. Didn't notice until I came to do some config on them.

@LeMarchand This is too far for a cable and power is an issue.
