Hi all, I'm being asked to sort out a bird box video camera. Its going in our playing field so needs to be... Battery powered, waterproof, wifi capable to view on phone and needs infrared for the dark. Does anyone have any recommendations ? Cheers in advance

So I get this email today from MLS................. ---------------------------------------------------------- Dear Customers Those of you who may remember when we first launched our hosted service, some 8-9 years ago now, there were a number of teething problems. We learnt about issues we hadn't fully anticipated - different local authority proxy servers behaving in different ways, a whole host of differences in security measures from one school to the next etc. While we tried to anticipate as much as we could, there were things we missed and there was, sadly, some short term pain. But we got there and got it right and for several years thereafter provided a very solid, relatively problem-free solution. Fast-forward to today's issues – we have invested heavily in the latest cloud-hosting architecture with Microsoft Azure and the end-game here is that we provide a more scalable, secure and responsive platform to our customers. This is the single largest migration of a live cloud infrastructure into the Azure platform. We are laying the foundations for improved product development, with a lot of exciting features in the pipeline. However, just like all those years ago, we tried to best anticipate any challenges ahead of us, and insulate our customers from any service interruption. Unfortunately, we haven't been as successful in this as we might have hoped and due to a number of issues which with all the will in the world, we could not have foreseen, we have not delivered the stability and speed our customers have grown to expect. But the light at the end of the tunnel here is that the product will absolutely be stronger, more scalable and more secure for it. We regret the short-term pain our customers have experienced, but going forward the system will perform better than it ever has done. This has also had an impact on our support service as a result of the increased number of related support calls. Hopefully, the introduction of these new support circles on Edoocoo will improve this too and also deliver a more modern and robust communication channel between our team and our customers going forward. Hi all, Got a weird one with my home network hopefully someone can shed light on Virgin cable == Virgin Hub 3.0 router set to Modem Mode ---> TPLink TL-WDR4300 Wifi router Everything can ping externally Everything can ping the router Everything can ping the modem The router can ping the modem Nothing can ping anything on the LAN Router itself can't ping anything on the LAN All DHCPv4- same subnet - 192.168.0.xxx NAT is fine Firewall is external only - or off This might have started happening when a new Virgin modem went in but I cant be sure. I need to remove the TPLink from the equation and test with just the Hub 3.0 - but it is awful so I'm currently thinking new router. I've done a factory reset on all devices and re-setup thoroughly. Clients are a mixture of Windows, Gentoo Linux, Android, Ubuntu -- nothing will ping from anything. I'm thinking a faulty router / routing table. Any ideas?

Yes. Both can auto deploy their endpoint clients.

@foofighterjim I kind of agree but its no different to a VPN/RD and a USB stick or emailing documents to oneself. I certainly agree, why allow printing at home in the first place... big issue. Incidentally, I allow neither, end to end encryption or nothing and heavily locked down policies. Just posted a simple solution to what the OP wanted.

I think they've given up even testing on us. The product hasn't changed since they changed it to Silverlight as far as I can see. Softlink/Oliver looks quite good. Anyone know if it does barcode scanning ?

Sophos Central products will do all of that for you. You may have to find a suitable reseller/host though. Its an excellent product from the trials I've done with it.

To clarify, no Impero, no kaspersky, no offline files etc. Analysing a typical drive (cheers @AJWhite1970 for WinDirStat) looks like.. c:\windows\installer == 36Gb c:\windows\sxs == 20Gb pagefile == 8 Gb ... but thats what it is. Thats half the drive. There are a lot of programs on these machines but it seems that the most of the space is taken by Windows .msp's and .msi's.

Hi all, I've come back to work after being off since November to a load of machines that have full hard disks - 120Gb m.2 sata SSD's. My test VM - same image - is 70Gb. I've been clearing out old profiles and the Windows temp directory etc but they're still really full. Have there been some whopping updates that have occurred while I've been off ? I cannot find where the space is being taken up. Any ideas ? Cheers in advance. (Jury service before you ask)

A card machine isn't that expensive. Monthly fee plus per transaction fee. Paypal machines are pretty economical. Might be worth a look.
