    Hi all, We have changes to our personnel structure whereby maintaining SIMS.net pupil data is being split across multiple people over multiple shifts. Anticipation is staff mis-communicating data getting mis-entered or missed completely. Does anyone know of a stock report or module to run that will interrogate the database and search for missing data ? This is to save mass panic when it comes to census time. Cheers in advance

    Also have you got DHCP configured on another server or DC also either in hot standby or load balancing? I would try deleting all the leases and watch live what happens tomorrow morning.

    JL has been doing this for ages. We're looking at getting rid of it now and getting something else. Tech support are impossible to get hold of. For us, browser is irrelevant. Its server side holding it up nearly all the time. When I finally got through to someone further up (after 2 weeks of phoning) and threatened to cancel they amazingly found a problem with our account. Its been a little less hit and miss since then but not good and certainly not worth the money.

    @genesis You've already lost the battle. It can't be won. I've been out all week and come back to find a laser printer in bits in an IT classroom. I won't replace it.

    I was taught always do 10% over. I got marked down for not doing so. It's to keep you out of the way from other traffic. Strange but true. Might just be this particular test centre but that's gospel. It was duel carriageway speeds

    @Bompalompalomp Well done that man. Straight onto your mod2 now you're in the swing of it. I found the mod2 much easier than mod1. If you drive a car you know all the rules already. My mod1 was on a thursday, mod2 the next day, so it wasn't an option to fail my mod1 or I wouldn't have been able to take the test the next day. All my training had been in heavy p**sing rain. The two days of my tests were bright and dry. Not good for judging swerves, stops, braking etc. Nothing like pressure to get the best out of ya !

    Hhhm... been having a play. Maybe I have the whole concept of Twitter wrong. Am I wrong to assume that if you reply to a tweet it appears below the original message for all to see? Like it does on this on this thread. Or if someone replies, does that reply just notify me/appear in my timeline/dashboard for only me to view? Not a social media lover personally!

    Cheers @CAM There's going to be a deputy head managing it. I just don't want the first thing to happen is that it gets trolled the minute it goes live - they'll just want it taken down straight away. That's likely in this demographic. I wish it could block replies. I'm looking at loads other other schools feeds that are really clean - are they just be deleting/banning any dodgy posts as soon as they see them?

    Hi all, I need a bit of advice on setting up Twitter for a primary school. They're nervous about people posting unsuitable replies to any of their tweets and who can/should be following them and re-tweeting etc...... Ideally for it to work as a one way news feed with no view-able replies. The school is in a very deprived area and this type of behavior is expected unfortunately - from pupils and maybe some parents/locals. How do you manage to lock down Twitter ? Do you approve followers? - If so how do you know who they are when you get a request? Anyone willing to post a pic of their Twitter privacy settings ? Big cheers in advance ; )

    Hadn't seen UE-V before. Looks interesting. If the network isn't available to sync at logon - e.g. users working remotely over a VPN connected up after domain login with cached creds, does it throw errors or use a local copy, then sync when the connection is available ?

    Hi all, I'm looking at getting rid of roaming profiles altogether. They're a PITA and never worked properly. The only reason I'm still using them is to give users an identical desktop environment wherever they logon. They are pointless for our VPN users, a PITA on laptops, and most use the same couple of machines, except pupils. I'm using folder redirection for most profile folders except appdata. Any comments on your experience of getting rid of roaming profiles appreciated. Cheers in advance

    From command prompt ---> rsop.msc Right click User configuration, Properties and select error information. This will tell you which policies are being applied and their error status. You can browse the applied GPOs and check the settings. EDIT: above you've put the path as USERNAME$. Surely this should be %USERNAME%

    I'm getting this also on a couple of Win7 x64 machines (one being the head teachers!). No Impero here. Nothing in the logs - not even the shutdown event - just the startup logs. User logs in then 10 mins later it shuts down, without needing to hit logoff. No scheduled shutdown in task scheduler. All shutdown GPO's removed and confirmed gone in Rsop.msc. A dodgy Windows update ?
