  1. Any reason you're not using DVI? - DVI has a usably longer range than HDMI.
  2. So back to the stone ages it would be - not that it's any more secure, where there's a will there's a way.
  3. Easy now - one step at the time, obviously we'll have to do some paperwork, then have a committee to meet and discuss, then choose a solution, then test it, then some more paperwork and more meetings to discuss, oh not to mention we will need to re-train staff as they only have "MS office" skills on their cv... Don't get me wrong - it's a great step - IF it happens.
  4. What is the software - some software is just not designed to play nice on a network.
  5. Kent load this page (in a full screen app with quota info at the top) when you log in IT service alerts
  6. If you are going to compare db, just be aware that 10db difference is about doubly as loud (as humans perceive it), here has some good comparison - Sound Proofing Walls: How Sound is Measured - Welk and Sons Drywall As it's a logarithmic scale two devices of 45db will be 48db, 4 devices will be 51db, 8 will be 54... According to an american body, "According to ASHA, ambient noise should be no louder than 30-35 decibels in an empty room." quote from Enhanced Classroom Hearing - Poor Acoustics. Just FYI.
  7. I'm not really sure you understand what the term 'vanilla' means in this context. You don't purchase Vanilla, if you have windows with no addon's then you are Vanilla. 'Vanilla for VMware' is just therefore VMware.
  8. could do it via a php page, using a php server to do the actual pinging.
  9. How about running virtual boxes on the server an then using VDI infrastructure to connect to them? That server sounds like it could more than ample handle that.
  10. You could ask tho I think you'll get funny looks from people who don't really understand what your getting at.
  11. I wonder how hard it would be to verify the finding of this?
  12. very interesting idea - what's to stop them doing the same thing upstream anyway?
  13. got a leak in the flat roof
  14. The government said this would not happen and the queen has over rulled. good. I just hope this is real and not a hoax.
  15. Proxies have more uses than just filtering, so for any internet connection with more than say 50 concurrent users they're beneficial purely for the cache. (obvs depends on your speed and supplier for that number)
  16. I doubt it - they like being different.
  17. I had one a few years ago when a buyer arranged for their own courier to collect, then took up a case with ebay when the courier delivered a damaged parcel - the pictures he sent me and ebay support the fact that it was damaged by the courier. They wanted a refund from me for the damage by their courier. now i let him take the case to ebay as it was his courier who damaged it and therefore not my responsibility. Ebay sided with me in the end but they still froze £400+ from my paypal account for 3 months which meant that I was in the poo for a bit.
  18. who want's an RC when you could have this e-volo VC200 Makes Maiden Flight. Flying Cars Incoming ...
  19. If it's a concrete floor you may also be breaking a fire break - which might need approval from building control.
  20. I'm pretty sure it's handled by the windows stack and that you wont need anything fancy for normal audio over rdp. Best thing is to rdp into your server from a machine with audio then play a YouTube video with audio... I would suggest that is suitable listening music from the above. Enabling Audio over RDP on a Windows Server, sans hardware soundcard | KnowledgeLayer says that it isn't needed as I thought, and Do you need a soundcard in the server for terminal services? - Ars Technica OpenForum also agree's in places that no SC is needed for TS to rdp sound. But as I say give it a go and see for yourself with you own set up.
  21. Sounds more like failing to provide services agreed in contract to me.
  22. You could also apply the GP to the an existing OU and use a group to restrict who the GP applies to.
  23. They've some interesting idea's with their product - It still doesn't beet building your own tho.
