So you want a minimum of 2 years experience, with experience of iOS, Windows, VMWare, Mac and Office 365. And you want to pay at a level which means you can only employ someone under 23, accounting for London weighting. Best of luck.

We've done 2 hour Parents Evenings, with 23 slots per teacher over 2 hours. 5 minutes per session. 220 students in each year. 3:30pm to 5:30pm Most have gone fine. Few parents (and one year group in particular) that weren't happy. We'll be doing an indepth survey to assess future plans in the next few weeks.

The basic iPad with 128GB of storage, an Apple pen and keyboard is £670+ at retail It was the pricing I had at hand for both at the time, so it was as fair comparison between them both (you can get both cheaper in education (no VAT, bulk discounts etc) so it wouldn't be fair to compare the EDU price of the iPad to the retail price of the Duet) Anyway, the point being you pay a lot more for the iPad and that ecosystem, so they are able to throw in things like Apple Classroom "for free".

These aren't basic functions. They're advanced functions that cost a lot of time and money to develop. You'll need to pay for solutions for this. Schools really need to understand that developers also need to be able to feed their children and put clothes on them. Push an app to use and lock its use is a feature of the Chrome Management License. You can do that using that. The reason Apple give some of these functions away as part of Apple Classroom is that they lock all other developers out of being able to do it, and because you're paying far, far more for Apple equipment than Chromebooks and the like. The basic iPad with 128GB of storage, an Apple pen and keyboard is £670+ at retail, compared to a Lenovo Duet with a pen and keyboard being about £340. That's the difference. Locking screens, viewing screens is a classroom management tool feature, and is something you'll get in Senso.cloud, Securly or Lightspeed. Google don't provide these as standard. If something is worth doing, it's worth paying for.

Well once all the new features for Google Chat and it's full integration into Gmail roll out, then it will be very similar to Teams. Not the same mind, but very similar. I wouldn't use it with students though. I think Classroom is a much better solution than the Teams fudge Microsoft went with for T&L.

You've also got the clasroom_teachers Google group, which gives teacher rights in Google Classroom. Teachers who self identify as teachers, but aren't accepted in the Group aren't able to do things like marking and Meets until they've been approved.

It was never possible, because they loaded so much of the processing of data onto the client, rather than to the server. This is why SIMS .net hangs whenever you ask it to create a report. It's doing all of that processing at the client end. Loading that onto a web based client would be near impossible as is. It would require a complete architecture rewrite. It's the same team as was at Capita. So, unless their uncoupling from Capita itself has removed restraints in regards to what technologies and tools they use, I wouldn't be confident. Perhaps it will allow them to bring in people who aren't quite so shackled? Let's face it, SIMS Finance already needs a massive facelift and UI rebuild and it's only just been released! Well, its definitely mature. Don't think I entirely agree with stable however - certainly not at the client end!

What version of Chrome are you using? 90 has just been released, and the current build is 90.0.4430.93

If the first thing the new owners are doing is pushing out SIMS 8 as being ready, it's not going to be pretty when schools realise it really isn't.
