More @SchoolsBroadband issues yet again. It keeps going down and returning for a few minutes. Been getting this since Friday now and no closer to a result. Is anyone else suffering with this company still? You get the feeling they've decided to run to capacity, then they'll invest to fix it, till they hit capacity again... I'm wondering if it going up and down a lot is stealth advertising for Pam and Tommy coming out today.

Schools just want bodies at this point. It's a job that pays minimum wage and a role that schools are struggling to fill as the job market is in the hands of the employee right now - to demand certain skills of people and not pay them for the skills is just not feasible.

Recommending Windows software for someone who wants to use ChromeOS? Well, it's something I suppose! Its very easy - and when it comes to kiosk functions and locking down functionality with SD Cards and USB devices, Google haven't changed how they work in several years. It's certainly a lot easier to create an exam environment in ChromeOS than it is in Windows!

Its curious, in one thread I saw people lamenting that Google knew everything about you and your habits. In this thread, people are lamenting that they are taking away free access to a product that hasn't been available in 10 years. Well, you can't really have it both ways. You either pay for a service and get the privacy you want, or you get it for free and Google gets the data it wants to create targeted advertising profiles. The reason iCloud+ is the cheapest service compared to Microsoft or Google is because it has the worst solution. Apple's spam filtering may as well not exist, and the less said about Keynote/Pages/Numbers the better really.

We don't do our computing through Pearson, so that I can't answer. However, I know that AQA and JCQ are working on digital exams and Pearson in the US fully support ChromeOS for examinations.

We don't, unless there is a ChromeOS version available, or an alternative.

I know several councils in particular who've realised just how many buildings they can get rid of if they just bung £40 a month for "home costs" into people's wage packets, and ask them to work from home unless otherwise needed. Hot desks have become real rather than a far fetched fantasy in the public sector!
