What if you ask them to provide social media details, and you find something a teeny bit unhelpful on their social media like some drunken photos - but they've disclosed that they're pregnant on social media or they're heavily involved with LGBTQ causes and they don't get shortlisted? It would be a really quick way to end up in court. KCSIE can recommend whatever it likes but short of them being a member of a banned political organisation or having an OnlyFans account with adult content on it, you are opening yourself up to a complete world of pain.

Christmas was an awful time of year for me in a previous role. Filming 5 different productions, editing the videos, making DVDs, taking the orders, counting the orders out, mass producing the discs, taking complaint from a parent about the order they never made never arriving so making a new copy and basically giving it away free... arguing with the senior leadership that i didn't need to film the same production with the same cast twice... Then doing all the other jobs you're supposed to as well as creating a Christmas themed display for the front of school screen, and being a cinema technician for the films in class whilst arguing with teachers as to why the streaming site they wanted to use was blocked... Awful time back then. None of that in the current role though!

They're not charging for storage. Education gets 100TB per tenancy, and you get 100GB extra added to the share pool per Teaching and Learing Upgrade, or 20GB each for each Education Plus License. Even without purchasing a single license, for 3000 users you'd get 33GB each. In my current role in a small MAT of 1700, we only have about 15 users who use more than 25GB and not one of those is a student. Most students use no more than 3GB. You can assign limits per user too. I'd also do a quick audit and see how many ripped Hollywood films teachers have stored for "education purposes!"

I'm guessing the difference is, and it's a big difference - that at the current time Parago doesn't have a 70% monopoly and a change averse intransigence built in due to the monopoly. Also larger per year cost for a shorter contract isn't unheard of, and at least they're allowing you to have a 1 year contract if you wanted it. With ESS it was 3 years or nothing.

Well, there should also be a reducing need for server rooms as more and more things move to the cloud, so whatever temperature you're setting the AC at, it should be working less hard than it was a few years ago, and working even less than it is now in a few years time. 27 degrees should be fine. Google Data Centres run their data centres at 80 Farenheit, and 27 degrees is 80.6. Also, air flow means just as much as the ambient temperature too, you want a good flow across the components to move the air away from them to keep them cool.
