Hahaha. We have an internal door (I have a key for that one) and an external door (I don't have a key for that one) which because I can't open the room has no ventilation. To be fair, I had to kick up a massive stink when our previous office had a fly infestation and the toilets above it were flooding into it, and the prevailing attitude was "suck it up" from facilities. So not having a door/window that can open and only 50% of the tube lights working after reporting both 6 months ago and nothing being done is very much an upgrade.

Of course the irony of this is, most office spaces have ditched ties in particular! Schools are always several years behind the mainstream, in most things they do.

The best bit of this, is that they've definitely made sure that the Surface Pro SE is on the compatibility list!

Yes, by 2030 all schools are expected by the current government at least, to join a MAT to have formed a MAT or be in the planning process for joining one. This was also planned for 2022 during Nicky Morgan's time in the DfE but didn't happen. They also plan to let Local Authorities create their own MATs (with caveats) so if a schools relationship with it's LA isn't particularly strong they'd be wise to get themselves into a MAT of some form soon before the LA snatch at them! https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/local-authority-established-mats-registration-of-interest

Yes, like ABTutor - We have Lightspeed Classroom, and teachers have the ability to create a list of sites that are specifically blocked, or specifically allow. I assume ABT has the same: Ie; Allow all sites except these or Allow nothing except these And they can save lists, many of them have the top two sites as: https://scratch.mit.edu https://www.youtube.com I would certainly put it in the hands of the teachers, else computer science might be annoyed when they're doing "Coding 101" in the future! Ahh. Well for this, we have a super-locked down group the students are put into once they're added to the "they're in trouble" spreadsheet! We then monitor it on and off and see what mischief they're up to in consequences, which allows us to find gaps and block them. Honestly works better than I thought.

Do you not have a classroom management tool for teachers? There are so many excellent reasons to keep scratch unblocked, I would suggest you need one.

Just finished watching The Boys S3, which is getting better as each season goes on. Also currently watching The Orville: New Horizons, which has been really excellent this season. Really has matured as a product, and isn't just a pastiche of Star Trek TNG anymore, it's become its own thing whilst still being very much a love letter to Gene Roddenberry. I'm also working through Halo, which I think is much better than some of the most vociferous fans of the games have been suggesting. I do love the games and their story, but this is clearly an alternative universe telling, and they're very much in the set up for the main story right now. Also Charlie Murphy is amazing in anything I've seen in her in and is again here. Also, Star Trek : Strange New Worlds - which is again EXCELLENT. Seriously well made and acted. Doing similar work to The Orville: New Horizons but from a very different angle. Really good cast, and it was an excellent decision to go back to more of a weekly story with season arc plot on top (more like Who) rather than Discovery or Picard doing its long narrative telling.

I've not heard of it before, and I have to say - naming your confidential reporting app for kids after a slang for a type of drug is... something! It seems to cross over a lot with MyConcerna and CPOMS. It would be good if those two also looked at a student reporting solutions. Seems to be a blind spot in their product currently.

To answer it quickly 1. No, not really. 2. Because there is a level of fear of change when it comes to some (not all) schools. Things are changing in the age of MATs, but there is a level of comfort in relying on the same local authority support organisations and the same software solutions rather than trying to do anything truly innovative and seeing change as a positive thing. Its the same reason why a lot of people reach for Microsoft Publisher as their software of choice still. This is one reason why schools are stuck with Windows 10 and Office 2017 still - SIMS domination of the market and lack of support for Windows 11 and Office 365. It holds schools back.

That's a bit too early to have seen the effect of movers due to the SIMS 3-year bombshell as that was only dropped on people on November 30th/December 1st. So that's really the churn BEFORE that. The data for May is going to be fascinating.
