  1. We've just started to have these: http://www.oki.co.uk/printers/multifunction-printers/a4-mfp/detail.aspx?prodid=tcm:122-131704-16 Toner is cheap (CMY does ~2K pages, K does 3K avg) easy to set up, software works on machines of XP and 7 - drivers work with 2008R2 servers They just work!
  2. Just read this, a lovely article and from a living legend! Patrick Moore: gentleman, astronomer and master of the universe | Brian May | Science | The Guardian
  3. 28 and childless! Although I do wish it was the opposite sometimes, I'd love kids!
  4. We have 2 safes from a company called Phoenix Phoenix Safes Ltd | fire safes, data protection safes, burglary safes and fireproof cabinets safes are suitable for magnetic storage and digital - not cheap and not light but most definitely worth it!
  5. We have our 6.1 running on a 2003 VM with 4 CPUS and 4Gb RAM (granted it can only see 3 and a smidge due to it not being x64) We don't use portal as the primary method mainly due to staff preferring email so we just let the system email tickets... I do agree, 6.1 is slower than the other versions but after going through and disabling all the unnecessary extensions scheduling scans in chunks instead of the whole network every day it seems to be better
  6. Isn't Hyper-V an installable role on server 2012 like 2008R2?

  10. @burgemaster would you be able to share your script? We have moved away from GPP due to similar issues you were seeing. A working script would be a great starter for 10 for us, especially if it reduces logon times
  11. Have you noticed this post is 2 years old? I'm not sure even the rugby confirms events that far in advance
  12. We have Exchange 2010 but its not set up yet (im in the process of the migration from 2003) starting to wonder now whether its better to wait...
  13. We haven't even got to Exchange 2010 yet! :/ I feel so behind the times!
  14. I'm sure if money was no object we would quite happily go for these
  15. Andy @VeryPC, They would be used for Hyper-V Server consolidation. I suppose a little heads up, we currently have 8 Hyper-V hosts most with direct storage, we have a SAN that has two massive servers on it. We are looking to replace our Dell PE 1900s (which are about 5 years old). We will more than likely be dropping three (maybe 4) servers (<1Tb HDD & 16Gb RAM in each machine) into this one chassis (if possible). We were thinking of clustering the 4 together for HA (again if possible i know SAN usage is required for this). We may be barking up the wrong tree in terms of what we think we could do with this but it's better to find out now than after spending a (small) fortune Thanks again Mark
  16. Been looking to do some server consolidation over the last few days and came across these and was wondering if anyone here uses them or similar? PowerEdge C6100 Rack Server Details | Dell Muchos Gracias!
  17. @victory2012 would it be an idea to allow a 'driveletter' variable at startup so that other drives could be shown if required? just a thought

  21. How are you trying to install? I have done it but it was some time ago and the old grey matter isn't quite working atm... I know for a fact using SIMSInst does not work you should just run the SIMS Application - make sure you have the drive mapped before you start and ensure you have all the .net frameworks installed on your sequencer machine before you start
  22. We have it working fine here, I did the network install which creates a separate installer as per the instructions and then app-v'd the newly created one. Our licence is a site one which is read from a server share UNC path.
