In this case I don't think you will need to edit Group Policy. However, you will need to edit your AD accounts. For example you stated that the old share is \\servername\HOME\username and in AD the drive letter is set to H:\ you will need to change your AD accounts to the new server\share path so in your case \\servername\STAFF\username - you shouldn't need to edit the drive letter. if you have multiple accounts to change you can do a mass update by selecting all, selecting properties and editing the homepath to \\servername\staff\%username% (%username% will automatically fill the username details for you on all the accounts you selected) Group policy uses the details that you enter here for the redirection hence you not having to change these settings they should update automatically at next logon. I suggest you try this on one account before you proceed to do all of them HTH

Good to hear, I have to say Veeam support is nothing short of excellent - all the times i've had to contact them they have been prompt and very knowledgeable

I presume he means he's been building a new server and using veeam to keep snapshot style rollbacks

Which version of B&R are you using, virtual server backing up etc? Type of backup? Is that all the logs say? A quick google points at a corruption in the backup especially when you get a decompression error...

I suppose I better add, My machine is a i5 with 8Gb ram running win 7 pro chrome version 27.0.1453.110 m PCE version 5148 with sophos 10.3 AV - just in case there is any difference

I have to say we have had very few issues since 5148 came out. We have the odd word crash but nothing major (that we've been told about anyway). I have just loaded the site on my machine (running 5148) using chrome and it worked fine even loading the games.

Veeam Backup & Replication 6.5.0.144 (64bit) - Standard Edition I suppose when I say agent it is not an agent in the way say Symantec BE works. The agent is more for scanning and processing the hardware. How do you do yours? We have had PaperCut NG for sometime but have never really used it other than for the logging aspect. Now SLT have noticed that we need to cut down on our printing so they want me to look into the restrictions etc. Thanks in advance

Veeam License per processor in the hyper -v host you wish to back up, so for example we have 9 hyper-v hosts with two quad core processors in each machine. Therefore we require 18 licenses. Veeam uses agents to do most of the leg work you install the veeam application on a server, this is the application that schedules jobs installs the agents etc. There is also the backup repository stuff which can be installed separately but we don't do this. Veeam installs a small 'agent' on each host which it uses to do the scanning and processing of each host, we have never had an issue with this.

SCVMM is just the virtual machine manager and although it can be incorporated into SCCM (I think) it does act as a standalone product (and is pretty good for managing VMs) I always thought it (veeam) required SCVMM (we run SCVMM2012Sp1) it may be the particular version you are using...

Been using VEEAM for the best part of three years (since v4) and quite honestly it is the one of the easiest pieces of software I have ever had to use. We backup around 50 servers a night with source size of 10.1 TB - these all happily complete in around 3 hours with CBT over the network. (we do reversed incremental). We have standard edition (18 sockets) all hyper-v. The backup server itself (the one that runs veeam) can be a virtual but the proxy/ storage servers are probably best being a physical server with lots of storage. Our backup server runs the veeam software and the acts as backup (off-host) proxy and backup repository (we have a dual quad box with 16Gb RAM and just under 12Tb of storage capacity) They also have VEEAMZip which is great for one off backups (like when SIMS gets an upgrade). VEEAM does require you to use SCVMM (2012SP1 if you're setting up 2012 hyper-v hosts) for it to hook into the hyper-v hosts

You may want to look at something like this if you're after quality. Just got back from cinemas - have to agree, it's a good film, but it is very 'I'm Tom Cruise Look at Me' CGI is superb though, very much getting to the point now of what is real and what is not. 8/10

My sister's USB Pen had this and the Symantec install didnt pick it up, plugged it into my win 7 virtual machine with MSE installed and it picked up the virus in seconds, sorted it out and all i had to do was run the attrib -h command on the drive to get the folder structure unhidden. annoyingly, she put her pen back into her laptop and the infection returned :/
