Just out of interest what sort of price were you looking at for 1200 install, also on the headset front, are there other options other than USB? I'm sure I have read somewhere that you can use different headsets?

Yeah if they are dual processor boxes (not cores) you will have to buy two licenses. We buy the veeam standard and get educational pricing through Probrand but there are other resellers so may be worth shopping around. I think we paid around £240 per processor for the last lot we bought. HTH

TBH I have never used altaro so cannot comment but all I know is veeam radically changed my ideas of backups and what was traditionally possible. Dont get me wrong though Veeam isn't the cheapest solution out there (per host processor licensing) but from my experience it is by far the best It's quite nice that @TheLibrarian whores out my knowledge too, he'll be wanting a commission soon

Thanks for putting me on the spot @TheLibrarian!!! Veeam is pretty intelligent with its free space tracking, instead of backing up each block of free space (which could be a Mb or 2 in size) it just marks that space as empty within the backup data (taking up a smaller footprint). This does mean you will see a big jump in backup speed as the job gets to the free space What version of veeam are you testing, what hardware are you using? Also in answer to your original question, yes you can restore to any host as long as it matches the original hypervisor i.e. hyper-v to hyper-v or vmware to vmware. We have just spent some time working out how much disk storage we have available - granted not all of it is in use and within the servers there is chunks of free space but of our available 40ish Tb the majority of that backs up in one night over the space of a few hours so speedy it most definitely is! If you have any other questions let me know and i'll do my best to answer.

The problem with the above is that, yes changing the print processor may work but, disabling advanced printing features means turning off lots of things that get used such as booklet printing, 2-1 pages etc. and honestly at the end of the day things like this should have been tested. I've seen this with Word Docs only. Student creates doc with text (calibri) and images (photos and screenshots) and it prints the images only. Remove all of the images and the text prints - change font to something other than calibri and it prints the whole doc fine! We only use HP Printers and have Office 2010 SP1 pretty much everywhere. For now the workaround is to not use Calibri but obviously in most cases this is just going to prove annoying! I will try changing the print processor though but disabling advanced features is just a not an option at the minute.

These monsters seem to appearing in most places, we have had (some would say) random occurrences of all of these, the Mug monster and cable eating monster being ones to name a few! We have had a new one recently (remarkably after we have fit a load of new machines in classrooms), the Email Fairy! s/he can send emails as someone else even when the someone else swears blind they have logged out of the machine. I think a children's picture book deal is in order for all of these - although poohenge may just push it over the limit

We have a 'uniform,' with school badge and Department name... I like it, it is comfortable in the warmer weather and we have a nice jumper that can be used in the winter

The list is worryingly long for me: Bones - waiting for Series 7 to start again - I have just completed watching the whole of the previous 6 series The Walking Dead - brilliant (just got to watch the last couple of episodes of S2) Grimm - Brilliant, loving the semi comedic values but the story line is quite good Alcatraz - started slow imho but can see it turning into a good series Currently catching up on the last series of Stargate: Atlantis (never got to see the last series) Sadly, quite loving some of the stuff (that's not alien orientated) on History - such as: American Pickers, Storage Wars, Pawn Stars etc Man v Food! That bloke is nuts - but a must watch if you want to figure out why America has one of the highest obesity rates Fringe is epic! Watched from series one and it has just got better and better!!! Sky 1's Obese: A year to save my life - the UK version was great a real inspiration to someone who is a tad on the large side. The US Version on the other hand is a little OTT Sky's F1 coverage hasn't been too bad - commentary is better than the BBC imho (crofty has some real passion for the sport) Started to watch Touch which was interestingly gripping with some very cool twists and turns (very sixth sense/ beautiful mind type of prog)

You could always create multiple queues that point to the same printer (assuming network based printer and some form of print server). This would allow you to stop one queue from printing (and therefore students) while not affecting the others who may send jobs to that printer.
