Dos_Box Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 We seemed to have had a bit of a drought on TV in the past 6 months with not a lot worth watching on, but recently it has picked up again with the following shows providing plenty of 'The kids have gone to bed lets watch something decent' moments (and a bit of a homage to shows no longer on/run their course). 1. Grimm - Well worth watching, and I hope they get a bigger budget next season for more FX. 2. Homeland - Ignore the holes in the plot/reality, it's quite gripping stuff. 3. Fringe - Well, it just keeps getting better IMO. 4. Alcatraz - Episode 3 tonight and it's a lot better than I thought it would be. No longer on: 1. Inside Job - I can see a big budget US remake of this in the future. 2. Reaper - Gone but not forgotten. 3. The Killing - Really enjoyed this, but was let down by the ending, and like a sucker we'll be back for season 2. Anything else currently on I've missed?
Greenbeast Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Suits i'm looking forward to The Killing season two, hopefully they can turn that ending around Quite agree on Fringe, just fantastic 1
X-13 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) [opinion] NCIS + CSI [regular and unleaded Miami]. Dr Who. True Blood. [when it's on] Big Bang Theory. The Cleveland Show. The Walking Dead. Napoleon Dynamite the cartoon seems decent. Edited March 27, 2012 by X-13 I forgot zombies... Rule #45 Never forget about the Zombies.
Dom_ Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 SPARTACUS, The Walking Dead (although that's just finished), Game of Thrones starts again next week too! 1
captaincharisma Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Spartacus Brilliant, Fringe also has had me hooked from the beginning (apart from having to pause it most episodes to explain to my missus what timeline their in!)
EvLPhenom Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Just finished walking dead season 2 and have to say really enjoyed that. Currently Watching - Big Bang Theory True Blood (when i remember its on) Family Guy American Dad Think i may have to look into Grimm and Alcatraz as they both look good. 1. Inside Job - I can see a big budget US remake of this in the future. I really enjoyed this and wouldn't be surprised either.
AMLinington Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I'm with you on the TV-front - it's been terrible up until recently but now I am having to Sky+ the repeats of stuff just to fit them all into the recording schedule! We are currently really into: 1. Suits - I am loving this! 2. Spartacus: Vengence - I miss Andy Whitfield though :-( RIP - his screen presence was awesome. 3. Grimm 4. Touched - I couldn't tear my eyes away from the first episode, it surprised me as I'm not massively into Keifer Sutherland 5. Fringe 6. Sanctuary 7. Alcatraz (although I am wavering on this a bit as I can't say I've been massively overwhelmed by the first two episodes tbh) 8. The Walking Dead (although season 2 has now finished) I am also really really excited about the new season of Game of Thrones! A.
pcstru Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Not on TV at the moment (as far as I know) but I enjoyed : Game of Thrones. Boardwalk Empire. Enjoyable though they were, neither was a patch on : Breaking Bad.
Dom_ Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Not on TV at the moment (as far as I know) but I enjoyed : Game of Thrones. Boardwalk Empire. Enjoyable though they were, neither was a patch on : Breaking Bad. Really? Game of Thrones cr***ed all over Breaking Bad!
pcstru Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Really? Game of Thrones cr***ed all over Breaking Bad! Depends what floats your boat. Breaking Bad had some moments of black humour that could have come straight from the likes of Alan Bleasdale. Game of Thrones - is enjoyable but not nearly so complex in terms of script and character.
LeMarchand Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Not on TV at the moment (as far as I know) but I enjoyed : Game of Thrones. April 2nd, IIRC.
jdoyle Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 +1 Game of Thrones. Looking forward to it's return. Walking Dead. (Never thought I'd be into a zombie series; generally not a topic of interest) sort of liking Alcatraz.
HarryMonkey Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I enjoyed Strike Back Project Dawn and now that Sky Anytime Plus is open to all I might just have to re-run the series.
plexer Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Currently got about a dozen episodes of chase on my sky+ Fringe Grimm True Blood NCIS Original and LA Ben
localzuk Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 30 Rock, Fringe, The Big Bang Theory, White Collar, Burn Notice
browolf Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Currently watching Alcatraz NCIS The Finder Undercover boss Kitchen nightmares In Plain Sight Psych
sonofsanta Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Spartacus, definitely, just finished series one and going through Gods of the Arena. Took a couple of episodes to get up to speed but once things started going horribly wrong for people my interest picked up, love it now. Game of Thrones is, naturally, the greatest thing on television, cannot wait for the new series, especially knowing what I have to look forward to now Walking Dead's second series had an awful start and I dropped out, although I hear rumour it picked up by the end... Fringe, likewise, I hear good things about but the first episode didn't do much for me at all.
