Looking for suggestions for a online helpdesk catering for several schools

In short I have been asked to take over support for 4 primary schools, they are all completely separate and independent. I recently went though FITS practitioner training and want to get these schools organised.

 

The first stage of my plan is to get a help desk sorted for each school. Ideally something web based so everyone can access it from any place and ideally not flash based ( one school is really into their IPads). I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas, suggestions of products or at least point me in the right direction.

Hesk (Help Desk Software HESK - a free PHP help desk) - completely free. PHP / MySQL based. No flash. Works perfectly, very customisable, and my iPhone handles it without issue.

Thank you, looks like HESK is the way to go for me the user interface seems much better for primary teachers than something email based also entirely web based is a must with 4 separate schools

ZenDesk. It's web-based and has an iPad app too.

We use Kayako - Help Desk Software, Live Chat Software and Customer Service Software, but it probably does more than above what you require - we don't use all features, but will look at the live help / remote assistance ready for September. Some of the above options people have suggested may be better for your needs and most if not all are free.

 

Spiceworks seems to be a popular choice on Edugeek.

Have a Look at Request Tracker - just setup a single queue for each school and then they simple email you - could use something like Google mail to retrieve mail via IMAP or .

 

I have about 10 queues on mine but hosted internally and connects directly to exchange servers.

We use Sysaid. It's not free but it seems to do the job. Also has an iphone, android, windows phone, blackberry app. There is a free version for 2 admins and 100 users. Windows or Linux and completely web based. The paid for versions are based on number of admins, end users etc. It has a remote control as well as a chat facility, knowledge base etc. Seems to work pretty well here.
