HodgeHi Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I'm up to level 50 now. Thought about going prestige but in all honesty can't be bothered. After last nights gaming session, it really irritated the hell outta me. I shot someone enough times in the head (I actually aim and not try to just spray bullets all over the place) and didn't get the kill. The other guy/gal shot me twice (from what my camera angle was suggesting, but actually emptied an entire clip into me which was also all over the place so only about 2 bullets actually hit) in the feet and i dropped down dead. Then there's the ones where some guy shoots you and you know that you were under cover and yet they manage to hit you, without even having the hardened perk on. I use the AUG with hardened pro with direct hits into the opposition and still lost out to someone who had something like steady aim or slight of hand equipped. Also with the hardened pro if I can shoot through solid walls and metal doors, then why could i not shoot through a mesh floor or a stair rail??? I have also shot people after they have been battering me with rounds and they drop after shooting them in the knees. If that was me I would've been miffed. The game is just too random. The only thing I can guarantee is that the mortar, napalm and RC-XDs will always find me. And what is it with all the Ghost wearers. An entire team on team deathmatch had them with that stupid mp5k i think it is. I saw the new MoH in Asda the other night for £25. I bought it and will se how that one fairs. No more black ops for me i think. I do prefer the maps on this one though as opposed to MW2s. I loaned out my BC2 to a friend. If he's reading this, can I have it back please?
Duane_Dibbley Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Completed the SP in 4 hours or so - very disappointing. AI was absolutely terrible. Played MP for a few hours, got bored fairly quick. This game is no improvement over the last, in fact its not really any different apart from the SP AI which is worse. Battlefield FTW
apeo Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I often wonder how bullets seem to go round bends sometimes and how you can get stabbed/slashed when they're not facing you.. i mean the number of times i've seen that on a killcam.. Must admit i like having the ghost perk on but there does seem to be more ppl using it now. mp5k isnt as annoying as AK47u.
HodgeHi Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 From what I can see using ghost is one of the only ways of staying alive. Especially when the bloody choppers come out. Man, I hate killstreaks. They serve no purpose but to ruin the game. I don't even mind campers. Actually I don't understand this term. To me a camper is someone who sits in one place abusing a glitch or right next to a spawn location. For the definition of camping, check out Killzone 2 where if you lay a spawn grenade they just sit over the spawn location meleeing it until it disappears. This to me is camping. Sitting in a certain location with a sniper rifle picking people off isn't really camping. Annoying if you keep getting shot, yeah but it is the way some people play and I would suspect part of war.
apeo Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Even with the ghost perk, you get done by choppers.. I dont really stay in the same spot for long.. can quite happily stay in 1 spot on a couple of maps on MW2 but cant seem to do that in Black OPs.

Do you still get taken out by some random person that should have zero chance but still does? You will always get the lucky ones but I don't think it's that all the time. Maybe I'm just blaming others and other things for my lack of skill What I meant by ghost and the choppers is bringing them down rather than being invisible. It depends on where you are standing in relation to the chopper. [ And I'm crap but still enjoy the game - even it means shouting at the telly ]
featured_spectre Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 My KD Ratio was poor before I started using my own classes. I used the pre-made ones. My KD was something like 0.25 when I went to 1st prestige, but now I am almost at 3rd, its up to 0.99 (and improving!)
apeo Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 True.. theres no chance of taking down a chopper without the ghost perk.. it annoys me how many players leave aircraft up.. The SAM Turret killstreak can be useful, but it seems abit of a waste of a killstreak sometimes.
featured_spectre Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 My killstreak for almost all maps are Sam turret, Blackbird and attack dogs. I occasionally swap Sam turret for chopper gunner, and reply the dogs then the chopper gunner. That way the dogs take out people inside, I take out people outside. Win win
apeo Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I've seen ppl do that before, highly effective.. makes it annoying if you're on the same team but cant get any kills because the person with the dogs and chopper is killing them all. I dont often get a kill streak higher then 5 or 6 so i never have chopper or dogs on.
CHR1S Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I am hovering around the 2.9/3 KD ratio and consider myself to be a pretty good player...BUT... only if the host is perfect and the clients are. Once you introduce lag to the host or enemy it goes horribly wrong and you start seeing the bullet round corner or knife attacks from people not even near you. All the skill in the world wont stop a laggy player getting a 20+ kill round.

I really should get a new router, i keep ending up in laggy games where people just jump across the map like magic and when the other xbox on the network goes online, one of us goes strict.

Activision reset his account to level 1, and microsoft banned him from live for 3 months. Not as if reports dont do anything, just need enough reports!

The dingle player campaign is a nit ropey but the online stuff was made by the guys that made battlefield bad company's online stuff. I must say it feels a big more real (although I've never experienced the real thing. Respect to those that have). You get shot and don't know a thing about it. The range of the weapons is huge. From one end of the map to the other. The sniper rifle actually feels like a modern sniper rifle with good range and thats the basic model as well. Looking forward to levelling up to see what else is available. In all I think I would recommend it. It's Hard though

I might do it a few more times...I got bored with doing it all for MW2, so on the 8th one, I stopped and did all the challenges....though due to an error with either IW or MS, my hours only register as 16 hours, instead of 16 days!!
