Just had a call from these guys, telling me that they had won a contract with some football clubs and would like to send us some football shirts by way of thanks....

Tried to get a home address initially "for security", then said they'd send some toner for us to try, valued at £325, which we wouldn't be invoiced for until completely happy.

Apparently I'll be taken out for a drink as well in the new year....

Quick Google whilst on the 'phone to the guy found these:

I had the same "are you going on holiday soon" and "what time do you work until" questions. Creepy.

Be careful guys....

If you search on here for "millenium" you'll see they've been doing it for a while. There's also another unfortunately named company with "millenium" who get confused with them.

Wait till he phones again, denies that he's ever called the school and then sulks and hangs up. They're weazels.

lol, have just done some searching back and realised I've spoken to them before! They were just MCS then, and the woman told me I sounded "lush" and wanted to take me out to dinner... she went away sharpish when I lied and said I had no purchasing authority...

Hehe I had this call too. Scamtastic!!!! Apparently I was in line for football shirts and tickets to the f1 British grand prix!!!

I suggested that if they wanted my business they can send me a few toners for free for me to evaluate. Strangely he wasn't too fussed with that idea.

I just kept repeating No after about 10 minutes he finally got the idea!!!

I've had this one too, my tactic was IMO great, I agreed to everything and at the last point where final confirmation is asked for said no.

Three times I went through all the questions about football shirts etc. said yes all the way until the last "So it's OK to send you the toner?" - No.

I think the sales person was much more irritated by that than anything else I could have done.

i had this from them, the usual "we have won sponsorship with major football teams to supply toners to them" etc. i just said "sorry mate, we have close links with derby county so i dont think they'd look too kindly on us accepting shirts of other teams". it then miraculously became rugby shirts, then f1 tickets.

he then went on to ask me how many printers i had, when i said i dont know he said "can you go look", so i said no and he hung up. maybe we should all start calling them, just pestering them non stop for a day......a sort of real life DoS :p

I've got to say that i have been using these guys for years and found them to be nothing but extremely proffesional!

Great products at slighty expensive prices but great customer care which is worth a few extra pennies! I'm shocked that anyone has anything different to say! I'll be using them again!

Frankly I am so rude to most salesman they give up :)

Once they called my boss and it went like this

Boss "Phone for you"

Me "Not another ****** ******* salesman?"

Boss "You find out"

Me "Hello?"

Man on phone "Yes.. I am a salesman, Guess you dont like salesman"

Me "NO"

Man on phone "Thank you for your time"

If you are so rude they know they are wasting their time :)

They are learning to get past reception last one said "Free Printer", you can guess what I said to him ;)

I was thinking that :)

Perhaps not the same MCS we were originally talking about?

Its either a certain some one working for MCS (same scam guys) or a different company called MCS which is actually not a scam (different from the above mentioned). I wonder which one it is ;)

Personally I never do business without doing some research and most people do, some though fall victim to these dodgy people.

How cynical! ;)

They'd be SOL if they rang here with those offers. Not everyone likes footie and cars! Maybe if it was tickets to a show...

Ah should have said, OK! Put phone on desk and "go and count the printers" (put kettle on, do jobs, tie shoelaces, have lunch etc.) come back an hour later see if they're still online...

Rang me today and the name rang a bell and was sure i'd read about them on here so while she was yakking I found this thread, unfortunately one of switches in the classrooms had a malfunction and I had to dash off, shame really the argos/mark and spencers vouchers would have come in handy and so would the tickets to the ruby....

They're back under a new name. Or at least another company is copying their tactics.

I've just had a phone call:-

Asked for my home address to send M&S vouchers to - I refused.

Gave me a security code - I've no idea what for.

Asked what I was doing at the weekend - Laura of MCS used to ask for dates when people would be on holiday.

Said they were selling triple quantity cartridges - just like MCS used to offer.

Offered to send samples of said cartridges @ £120 each, then mentioned an invoice.

I put the phone down at that point.

The only improvement over MCS is that this time he gave a full address for the company. Somewhere in Cornwall.

I cannot remember the name of the company - I wasn't really listening - sorry.

If anyone else get this, please let me know the name so I can alert the LA.

Yes, that's them. Same script.

I had Laura call me twice a few years ago. I can't believe they are still doing it.

The name of the company this time wasn't MCS though. (It was three letters, I just can't remember).

I think these guys called me today, wanted to send me a free MP3 player as "thanks for assisting with a survey" to my home address. I only took the call from reception as I was bored and felt like telling someone to bugger off myself for a change, so I wasn't really paying attention to the name of the company, was definitely a three letter name though. Not that pushy though, in fact they hung up almost immediately when I replied that I wasn't interested.
