Hi,

I'm doing the Gower Bike Ride on Sunday (as maybe some others here as well). If anyone fancies sponsoring me £1 then please do so. The money raised is going to the British Heart Foundation. They helped my Father in law when he had heart disease. Their support was excellent and really helped the family. Who knows maybe one of us may need their support. Maybe one of you are already receiving their support.

If anyone fancies sponsoring me - ** This bit has changed **

You can now donate to me through Just Giving: http://www.justgiving.com/gareth-edmondson/

Not sure how many members are on Edugeek - but £1 each would be cool. Hopefulyl someone will.

Regards

Gareth Edmondson

Would it be an idea to use something like justgiving.com so they can benefit from gift aid too?

Either way, drop me a pm Gareth.

Just Giving wanted payment of £15.00 to get going. So I thought it would be easier to use this method of collection.

Address is paypal at indigo-cube dot co dot uk

Yeah, Good Luck Gareth! :thumb:

As, Kmount suggested, JustGiving - Raise money for charity online - JustGiving may have been easier in the long run, with the advantage of gift aid and not worrying about handling the money. I used them 7 years ago when i did a sponsored cycle ride in Sri Lanka.

Sorry, don't have PayPal.

Yes - I saw Just Giving - but they wanted £15 per month that the page was open. Surely that isn't a charity :-)

If you really want to give through Just Giving then please feel free to give to my friend who is riding with me:

He setup his own page.

Can I just take the opportunity to thank the EduGeekers who have given. There really are some generous people out there.

So come on everyone else. £1 is all I ask.

Who knows maybe you will need the BHF one day.

Cheers again everyone,

I believe that if you make a personal Gift payment rather than pay for goods or services this is charge free.

Log into Paypal, go to 'Send Money' tab

Click on the Personal tab about half way down the screen

Select Gift

Come on everyone...... give £1 to a good cause.

Every penny + gift aid goes to the charity - The British Heart Foundation.

Maybe I shouldn't be begging for your charity here - but you never know how good an organisation are until you need them and then you change your opinion. Someone here may need their services one day.

Getting ready this evening the ride - bike ready. Everything is in place.

Let's go............

Thanks everyone,

All done. We did the 29 miles in 2:20 - not the best pace. 5 minute miles was the aim of the game so we averaged 4.83.

Official pictures were taken if anyone is interested. I shall post one here so those that did donate can see their money went to a good place.

Thanks everyone for your support.

(and I'm sure anyone who benefits from the work of the BHF).
