been riding up at castleton today, lots of snow, bit hair rasing on the downhills, stuck to mainly roads, which was solid enough.

We've got snow in Kendal which is a bit of a pain as there is a group of us off to North Wales tomorrow morning with 220 year 7s

Just received a new weather warning from the Met Office covering our neck of the woods. It says:

 

"The combination of wet or snow covered surfaces, combined with a widespread frost, will lead to widespread icy stretches on untreated roads and pavements.

 

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the 'Highways Agency' for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads." valid from tonight at 7:00 until 10:00 tomorrow morning and then:

 

"Outbreaks of rain will be persistent and at times heavy. Accumulations of 25 to 35mm are expected. Combining this with melting snow, this may lead to localised flooding." valid from 3:00 pm until midnight.

 

I have no doubt that this warning will change and will be updated.

slightly snowing here - not enough to keep the school closed tommorrow.... yet.

All of us need to pray hard to the snow god for help immediately. Let's keep the snow rolling into next week and we might be able to make it to half term.

 

Nothing here yet, i am even doing a snow dance to help things along.

Update: Snowing pretty heavily here now with no sign that it would or might earlier. It is not settling yet but if it continues to come down at the rate that it is currently falling then it MUST settle overnight.

I'm doing anti-snow dances because I have to catch up with stuff cancelled because of school closures.
