Right. With BETT now a week old memory and my voice just returning, it's time to start prepping for the next big thing, the May Conferance. Just a few pointers so far for you though. It will be at Chorley again, we will have it during the May half term break (exact date TBC), I want you all to be in the same hotel again, and I'll set up a coach as before. Not sure about offsetting the hotel rooms as of yet due to some of the larger companies who helped out last time still not playing with us fully.

I want to have a movie slot in the early evening after the event (I'll see if EduGeek can provide the beer) and it'll be a choice between Office Space and The Pirates of Silicon Valley, if you think it's a good idea. Also an EduGeek merchendise stand with t-shirts, shirts etc to purchase (don't panic, there will be freebies too) as well as the usual raffle.

Apart from that I've not much else to report, so any suggestions from you as to what you would like to see then please feel free to start suggesting now.

I'm going to give as much advanced warning of dates as I can to enable those of you who live in the sounth to get cheap train\plane tickets booked (it's on the direct line from Manchester Airport). Trust, me, given advanced notice you can get here and back again first class for less than £100 from almost anywhere by train!

A couple of suggestions of what I think might be of interest

Hehe ... I get to sit back and not worry about anything, not speaking, not running around pulling the last of my hair out and I shouldn't forget that I get to heckle this time :D

Anyone fancy sorting out a car share from Northants / Leicestershire?

I'll be there! :D

I found the May Conf 2008 to be a very good expeirience! got allot from it

As i missed BETT this will a nice chance to catch up with you all again

You just want a free bar trip on Gav's expenses card from Smoothwall really :p

As for GD's sitting back relaxing etc, how can we cope without being entertained by your holiday photos when your mac goes into screensaver?

If you could all suggest topics for the conference, we can get a poll together and make the event as worthwhile as possible.

We know lots of people with lots of skills so we could have anything... penetration testing might be an interesting one for instance :smash:

The holiday pics are gone ... now I have a selection of 1100 LOLcat pics to entertain people.

I vote "children" testing of all the UMPCs on the market, stuff the marketing hype of there children-proof etc, let us have a set and see what damage we can do to them and make the true Edugeek top list of UMPCs for use in schools.

Sounds perfect :D I vote we need a Data Protection talk from the specialist on Data Protection AKA Mr G Dook :D Then we can see his lolcats collection :)

Aw, no more "tony's holiday snaps"? ;)

Edit: Damn beaten to it!

Oh - and I will talk to the boss about what we can sponsor! We will definitely be there.. see what we can talk about if you have a vacant slot too, but don't want to monopolise if you have "new" speakers, as I did one last year :)
