This is a varied, hands-on role covering multiple sites, including secondary, primary and specialist provisions. You will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of IT services, ensuring systems are reliable, secure and fit for purpose, alongside contributing to wider projects across the trust. The role is primarily based around the Taunton area (with Monkton Wood Academy as a main base), with regular travel between sites and some flexibility for remote working where appropriate. If your friend does not mind the commute from Cornwall, then absolutely! Realistically, the role will need an on‑site presence at first while they get to know the systems, academies and people. As they settle in and grow into the position, hybrid working becomes much more practical, but there will still be an expectation to be on site at least two to three days a week.
