Anyone else having issues this morning?

Yes - cover supervisor said it kept freezing when logging in - but it could have been a Microsoft issue with SSO.

"code-level optimisations" Badly needed.  When you click student or Staff in Bromcom (the most used parts) the system ALWAYS loads the full table of ALL students or staff with potentially 10 or so fields per student.  BEFORE it lets you even search a student.  This must add a lot of unnecessary load to the the system.

It's not just an infrastructure issue.

and in the browser, so single thread client side

Anyone having issues with the REST API this morning? All applications returning 401's suddenly and the portal "try it out" are all doing the same.

Yes, Was awaiting for Locker to create a new student who started yesterday, I ran it manually and get this error.

5301 GetServiceEmails
5301 Response error: Unauthorized, Unauthorized Response: {"success":false,"message":"Unauthorized request.","data":null,"errors":null}, Error exception:, Error Message:
5301 GetBromComStudentsAll error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

So would assume it is down or broken.

Its a relief to see its not a problem our side then, would be nice to see some acknowledgement of an issue - I created a ticket on the portal a couple of hours ago and the status shows it at 100% operational. Not had great response times through tickets on the portal though. Hoping they know there's an issue by now.

Maybe, Not had anything back from Bromcom as of yet.

We are using the Partner Portal API for this software, and not the external data and users. Not sure if that part has also stopped working.

Nope, nice and fast here.

Ok thanks - maybe just a few glitches whilst registers around the country are being done!

Although not a real major problem, I have noticed when I add new MCAS accounts.. it sits there.. and sits there....... and sits there. I generally only have this issue when adding all the new year 7 parents during June/July. Now it seems to do it while adding 1 parent account.

In fact as I type this.. it's still going and going and going.

I've often found that I need to go through this process twice, and the second time is usually a lot faster. See also creating Student My Portal accounts.

I've just logged a performance issue re: Bromcom about 20mins ago - any other schools down?  Just as I logged it with helpdesk, internal messages were saying others were also logging this - but so far no update on their status page!  🙄

We've had 2 different teachers telling us they can't take Period 2 register this morning - says register locked.  When they do go in the entire class is flood filled with "I" codes.  Anyone seeing that?

Different staff, different devices, different classes so we're sure it's not a device/user issue.

That honestly sounds like a user error than a system one.

Have you looked in the system logs to see if someone has accidentally filled P2 with an 'i' code?

I thought so too but another 3 teachers have just told us the same - no way 5 different people made the same mistake in the exact same way.  They also said they couldn't get into the registers - it says "locked".  We can only see this from the backend manage attendance route.  Will raise a ticket.  Thanks for the feedback though

I was more thinking a member of the attendance team has accidentally filled in P2 with I codes, rather than individual teachers. Nevertheless, I'm sure Bromcom support will be able to get to the bottom of it!
