I have raised the issue of how poorly the NHS treat our data on numerous occasions but unfortunately they don't seem to listen. As stated in previous posts it is often a last minute send us your data over email with no consideration of how to secure that data. A link to Wonde would be ideal and means they have accurate and up to date information when they need it.

We had the file electronically. It was a separate download from the python files. Although we didn’t provide it electronically as the teacher told us it wasn’t needed.

We use dividers to allow us to use computers next to each other. Something like these https://edividers.co.uk/ (we just use the cheapest version).

We had an email today saying our catering company were making too many photo requests so they are disabling their API between 8.30 and 9.30am until they resolve it. They did also say it wasn't the primary cause of the problem but it looks like they maybe identifying other issues while they are investigating the cause of all this.

We have had a couple of wobbles this morning with users getting the same capacity error from the last 2 days but generally seems a lot happier and a refresh has solved any issues quickly.

Maybe if you all leave it will work perfectly for us! No more capacity issues yay! 😁

Same here. Fun start to the day.

Switch from ParentPay to Bromcom for payments
HC_Netman replied to mitchell1981's topic in MIS Systems
I can't help you but we are looking at doing the same process at the moment although moving from Tucasi payments and using AMI cashless. So I will keep an eye on the thread. I assume once you have a 3rd party user with write back enabled in Bromcom the balances would transfer over exactly as they are. Bromcom would just be displaying what is on the cashless system. -
We have had a no phone policy for a while. Our students lock them in individual lockers at the start of the day and then collect them at the end. The lockers are in their tutor room (first lesson is a tutor period) so sometimes there is a delay to leaving site at the end of the day while they all make their way to the correct room to collect them. It is not a perfect solution, some kids just say they don't have a phone on them and others bring a cheap 'burner' phone to lock up for the day and keep their proper phone with them. I think that would be an issue with any solution though. Looked at Yondr pouches at Bett and was quite impressed at first (especially if you get parent buy in) but I later found some videos on Youtube showing how to open them without the unlock stations and I figured the students will find those videos fairly quickly as well. I guess whatever you do there will always be students that break the rules.

No issues here... yet! 🤞

Don't want to be the suspicious type but be careful. This guy joined Sunday and has only posted 4 times (all in this thread). Sorry Baz if you are real!

Our staff are running pretty much entry level Chromebooks from Acer, Asus, Dell and HP. We rarely spend much more than £200 on a device and our staff love them. We get very positive feedback and most say they wouldn't go back to a Windows laptop. As a Google school any features you lose are not going to be important. Chromebooks are easy to manage and easy to use, what more could you ask for. I guess its not the direct recommendation you asked for but you can't really go far wrong whether you buy at the cheap end or spend a little more.

Not noticed anything so far and no complaints from staff.

The line is from M247 but through a reseller. It appears that M247 reported the problem once they became aware of it (probably shortly after me opening my ticket) but because my reseller had closed the ticket I didn't receive any updates. I will be speaking with my account manager today because I am not happy with how they handled this. Had me tearing my hair out thinking it was something my end when they could have simply provided an update admitting an issue. I really appreciate everyone's input. I don't post too often on here but the support when I do is always amazing.
