Ubi have just emailed to say WD2 is now in my account. Maybe I should get round to WD1 one day? (Which was also a freebie!)

By all accounts WD1 is weak in comparison. From the brief time I spent with 2 it was excellent, but I don’t have a lot of time to play open-world stuff and I stopped on a hard mission. Maybe just skip WD1?

Cool, Quake 2 was my favourite of all the Quake games. I think that was pretty much the only ID game of that period that wasn’t a glorified tech demo...

[Android, free for a limited time] Link: The Lost Lands: Dinosaur Hunter [Google Play]

The Lost Lands Dinosaur Hunter.jpg

In all verity The Lost Lands: Dinosaur Hunter is one of the most lovely simulators of Dinosaur Hunter. You'll have to investigate the most secretive object in the world called "The Lost Lands". To meet with living dinosaurs, which became extinct hundreds millions years ago. To see the T-Rex and to feel the death's breath. The world of The Lost Lands: Dinosaur Hunter is waiting for you!!

We'll see the perfect combination of those remote years and present. The fight between two dominant races at that time: man and dinosaurs. Something like safari on raptors, spinosauruses, tyrannosauruses... But who may finally become a hunter or to become someone's prey instead?

Anyway, a wonderful beauty of pristine nature and its inhabitants are waiting for you. Good hunting…

Elite Dangerous free on epic games store 19th Nov https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/elite-dangerous/home

By a quirky coincidence I was reading this old Elite Dangerous thread. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/elite-dangerous/145315-thrustmaster-t-flight-prices-creeping-up.html

What's the current view on joysticks or HOTAS devices - what's a minimum decent level for the Epic Game and what's the top of the pile. That 6 year old thread was talking about prices rising from £30ish pounds to approaching £50, but I don't know what the comparable product is today. Having not owned a joystick since my ZX Spectrum days, I'm somewhat out of touch! I have heard HOTAS devices being in high demand, possible due to the latest MS Flight simulator, but increasingly I'm thinking of getting back in to some proper gaming.

They are going higher still!

The cheap one is OK, but you really can't beat the high end HOTAS controls
