What keyboard and mouse are you using?

 

I'm using a Logitech K120 and Logitech M100 mouse. They are basic however, very reliable. I used to use the Corsair gaming mice however, I was extremely disappointed with them. I went through 2 Corsair Sabre RGB mice in 2 years. After about 1 year, the first one started to make the pointer jump around the screen. Cleaned it thoroughly and still no better. I thought it was faulty however the same thing happened to the second one after around 1 year (well there's £90 down the drain). On the other hand, I have a spare Microsoft Intellimouse that's well over 10 years old and still works perfectly and it was heavily used! In my experience the cheap, basic mice are better.

An HP low profile mouse like this: https://www.ryman.co.uk/hp-z3700-wireless-mouse much of the time, but I get strain in my hand occasionally so i then switch to a chunkier logitech. I've also trained myself to be reasonably competent with my left hand so I can rest my right one too.

 

Keyboard? Some random RM thing I obtained from somewhere. My emails tend to be brief and much of my work is done in sheets so typing comfort is not a major issue for me

Logitech wireless mouse, can't remember the model

 

I like consistency on the keyboard front, plus i like a keyboard with audio controls, and the cherry mx blue switches are loooovely to type on. I've been meaning to get a similar keyboard for the heads PA, as the only other speedy touch typist in the school i think she'd love it.

At work I use some logitech wireless thing, I have a IBM model M to use too but it drives everyone nuts And I've an old corsair K65 that I may take to work

While working from home I treated myself to a Logitech Mx keys and Mx master 3 mouse. They’re now on the desk at work.

What keyboard and mouse are you using?

 

In theory, I have a nice home working setup with an original IBM Model M keyboard and Microsoft Intellimouse, both connected to a NUC plugged in to a 32" TV / monitor. However, my girlfriend has been using that for the last 6 months in the front room while I've been in the bedroom on an Ikea console table with my laptop. For that, I have a Logitech M-UV55A mouse, with the main distinguishing feature of having a not-too-long cable that doesn't get in the way.

Logitec K310 and a basic Dell mouse after my 20+ year old MS Intellimouse Optical failed the other month (well works but its but something isn't right).

 

Work, when in the office just your basic Dell keyboard and mouse nothing fancy.

I got a Corsair K63 (Cherry MX reds) a while ago and I ended up switching back to my K120 as I preferred it. I can see the appeal for gaming however for lots of typing the K120 was better for me! I do miss the media controls however I can live with that. It's a shame the K120 doesn't have the same media buttons like the K270 wireless keyboard. I don't really like wireless keyboards and there is no advantage compared to having a wired keyboard if the keyboard is never moved like mine.

At work a Dell KM717 keyboard and a Logitech MX Master mouse. Not cheap but considering those are the bits of your computer which you actually touch, worth the money in my opinion

Keyboard - The same wired Kensington keyboard I give out as standard to all. As it tends to be used and abused. So can be replaced easily and cheaply.

 

Mouse - The wired Microsoft Classic Intellimouse. I caved in and decided to buy the Logitech MX Master AMZ Wireless mouse, but to be honest I was disappointed in it, so went back to the Intellimouse.

 

Mouse mat is the Corsair wide mouse mat/desk pad thing.

Keyboard - nice Cherry MX Brown no-name keyboard I found on Amazon. Works just fine and so much better than rubber-dome keyboards.

 

Mouse - er... some Logitech wireless thingy I found in the "Mice" bin in the storeroom. Doesn't have a model number on it unfortunately. I should really get a nice one, this one is a bit small for me - I think it's designed as a "laptop" mouse.

At work I've got a HP wireless mouse and keyboard set (mostly for the media keys) and an old Razer Goliathus mouse mat. At one point (back we were hot-desking a bit) I used the Zalman FG1000 for a bit, but mostly just to freak people out.

At home I've got a Corsair M65 pro mouse and Corsair K70 RGB red keyboard plus a random keyboard recommended by a friend (that I can't remember the name of) that's super comfortable for typing, with a corsair "desk mat".

Also have a downstairs office set up with cast-off peripherals (it's currently rocking a razer something-or-another mouse and the lycosa keyboard).

 

Both work and home have the PUK wrist rest (originally just because the right cuff of all my jumpers wore out).

I have a Gigabyte Osmium KB (with noisy keys!) and an Anker gaming mouse, which was very cheap but has lasted ages and is actually quite good!

Bit of a random query but I was looking for a new keyboard. I'm a massive fan of the Logitech MX revolution/master series of mice so thought the MX Keys keyboard would pair nicely with it.

 

My only issue is that I generally prefer tenkeyless TKL keyboards without a numpad. Currently I'm just using a cheap Artek wireless keyboard off Amazon which is OK but the key action is a but mushy and I feel it limits my typing speed. Other than being full size the MX Keys looks ideal being wireless and allowing you to switch between multiple devices like the mouse does. I've tried a few mechanical keyboards in the past but I don't really like the feel/pressure of the tactile switches generally.

 

How are you finding the Logitech MX Keys keyboard now you've been using it for a while?

If you can't decide I'd say you can't go wrong with the Microsoft Keyboard 600 - a long lasting, low cost, dependable keyboard.

Ive just discovered the Mx series. Got an MX anywhere for Christmas and used it every time I’m on site. Just got an Mx master 3 for my birthday and I can’t believe how excited I am over a mouse!

 

I’m not sure in the MX keyboard though. I’d like to try it - but covid times ...

At home, currently the basic Dell combo that came with this OptiPlex that I borrowed for WFH. Nice enough.

 

At work, a Cherry-branded keyboard with MX blues. Can't remember the model but the stylling is nice and classic with a roomy layout. Tempted to try a non-clicky one at some point (browns?). I can't remember what the mouse is but it has thumb buttons and a braided cable!

 

It's been ages since I came across a 'bad' vanilla keyboard or mouse, though. If only the same could be said for kettles and toasters.

I've got Elecom Huge Trackballs at home and work.

 

I've got a Das Keyboard 4 at home, but I'm not sure its that much better than the ones you get from Dell or Lenovo these days. Standard keyboards have come a long way over the last few years. Not saying its bad though, I just don't do enough typing/coding any more.
