I know a few anti-vaxxers who (back in the day) have put various things in their body and I'm sure they didn't know the actual contents of most of them, including other drugs that were meant for horses...

Still I can't believe people will believe some idiot on Facebook, but not believe scientist. But they are happy to take paracetamol.... Anyway, looks like schools around here (E. Sussex) are getting hit really hard. We have around 100 pupils self isolating and cover is becoming really difficult. Another school near us has more than 300 kids off and had to collapse classes to be able to keep them in school. But yeah, no need for the masks.

Ditto Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 What I meant (and I thought I made it clear) was that I think you'll find 'anti-vaxxers' include various types of people from all walks of life, races, creeds, religions, and I believe they will be found in people with a range of 'political views' as well... to say that a certain person is a 'XXXX political supporter' and this therefore automatically makes them an anti-vaxxer is incorrect. Therefore, no I do not believe being 'anti-vax' is a purely political thing... I felt you made the point clearly and I interpreted it in a non-political way.

If you don't have all the other numbers to place it in context, then you're a conspiracy nutter. The fact that those numbers weren't given is the problem. If the hospitals weren't full of people with covid, then people with cancer could get treated. Pick one. You can't argue that lockdown causes cancer deaths. For what, commenting on a broad presentation by Dr John Campbell on death figures following a FOI request. I hope others have seen the video and can comment to bring some additional insight, otherwise I will have to draw the conclusion that having covid last year has destroyed my ability to make reasoned observations.

If that was indeed the case, I agree it is nonsense. I'll be honest, I haven't heard that theory before but you could be right. I tend to stick to more trusted, medical and scientific perspectives. Conspiracy theorists will always misrepresent facts, but I align more to Prof. (Sir) Whitty's statement from one of the September press briefings on this topic: "repeating them in public actually just gives them credence which they don't need". Ultimately, I think if anyone takes the time to listen through Dr John's Campbell video, the comments made do him an injustice. If conspiracy theorists misuse his scientific commentary for there own warped means, it's unreasonable he should be tainted as a result.

When to self-isolate: You should also self-isolate straight away if: someone you live with has symptoms or tested positive (unless you are not required to self-isolate – check below if this applies to you). When you do not need to self-isolate: If you live with or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, you will not need to self-isolate if any of the following apply: You're fully vaccinated – this means 14 days have passed since your final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/when-to-self-isolate-and-what-to-do/ I presume he is fully vaccinated...? Ditto Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 It would appear the abandonment of PCRs following positive LFTs has screwed our attempts to reschedule our cancelled Xmas ski holiday to Easter. We can't get a certificate for youngest son as not double vaccinated. He can't be vaccinated in time due to 12 week wait post positive. We can't get a certificate showing a positive PCR cause we we asked not to. Just wondering if he did a PCR now whether show positive? Probably won't as it's not really in the spirit of things, and would probably mean unnecessary isolation, but it is super annoying. Maybe the rules will change again.

I think that needs a PCR initially, presumably as it's more trusted. I don't think France accepts it anyway. Maybe daily LFTs is a way forward but that gets very expensive and we couldn't book any when we tried before France, before the fully pulled the plug on us Brits. Maybe I need to review Sweden/Norway again as that a destination we have done before at Easter. Staycation skiing doesn't really work!
mikeprice Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 Old childhood friend of my wife's came round yesterday she is still trying to persuade her daughter to get her first jab - she is in her 30s also - she is convinced that she has got 'loads' of colds and the flu since getting the flu and Covid jabs clearly this is related - so she isn't getting any more jabs and quite a few of her other relatives are unjabbed - but not antivax (????) and she is a qualified nurse!!! sometimes I despair still she did have the sense to do a test before she came round
mikeprice Posted February 8, 2022 Posted February 8, 2022 (edited) Oh - and this morning I noticed a post on 'another forum' saying about the "over 1,000,000" deaths directly due to the vaccine so I challenged it and showed some official stats saying the UK has about 9 he replied with some data - which was good but it was carp - relating 'reported vaccine side effects as deaths - which would include my wife's sore arm but she ate her tea tonight so I don;t think she is dead plus a load of 'reliable sources' basically a website called ********** (did type the name - but I don;t want to give it any air - even to people on here - who generally can think YEA GODS basically a cess pit of antivax and similar stuff 5G is apparently not popular round there I think I must have died some time ago and am only still walking around due to 5G zombie interface which would at least explain the typing and semi colons Edited February 8, 2022 by mikeprice 1
