Thought this might be a bit of fun. Rural, city, posh, whatever. You must have some examples?

You know you work in a rural school when you've been complaining to someone at work about how you've got a 100ft long back garden which has now grown above knee height and the following day he appears at your office door and says "I've brought my scythe in for you to borrow"!

Hah, I've done that!11208671_10155496115100237_5835584000834405791_n.jpg

You know you work in a rough area when the glazing contractor leaves you enough adhesive safety film to do make 20 smashed windows safe and you and the sitemanager have gone through it in 2 weeks.

You know you work in an area with a high traveller count when year 4 and 6 are suspiciously quiet around the Kenilworth Horse Fair and half of year 6 are still not back at the start of term after the Great Dorset Steam fair.

You know you work in a rough area when you have an actual procession of social workers and police ariving on a monday morning for shenanigans that went on over the weekend.

I could go on.

You know when you work in a primary school when having to admire a wobbly tooth is a daily hazard.

You know when you work in a primary school when believing in Santa and the tooth fairy is covered under “any other duties as required” in your JD..

You know when you work in a primary school when none of the students think you go home at night - all the ‘teachers’ live in the school.

You know when you work in a primary school when all staff get called Mrs by the youngest pupils even when the staff are male.

(In my first school job, my NM at the time accidentally called the head 'Mum' in a meeting).

You know you work in a posh/well behaved school when the Master in charge of Chess does an audit of the 16 chess sets before a tournament and not a single piece is missing despite them being sat on a shelf in a classroom for six months and constantly used unsupervised by the boys at break times
