AMLinington Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Having an excuse to use the chipper in the garden. It’s very therapeutic reducing the prunings to shreds So is using an incinerator - We set fire to some stuff we ripped out of the horrible old kitchen in our house. SO satisfying. BURN ALL THE THINGS! 1
bald_pig Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 The smell and sound of a 2-stroke engine 3

BURN ALL THE THINGS! Oh I agree. I get the incinerator out at regular intervals to get rid of my backlog of governor papers. Very satisfying 1
southhamster Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 The sound of some motorbikes. Laverda Jota. Old style Bonneville. Ducati Desmo. 2
stevejp Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 My little boy - the centre of my world. Does that count? Also, the first downbeat of whatever concert I happen to be singing/ playing in. 1
rad Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 When you see kids enjoying the outdoors without any gadgets. For me I help out with DofE, sailing and water sports stuff. I’ve also had the really naughty kids in school come and ask you politely for something, makes me enjoy my job 2
Vaardu Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 Getting that satisfaction of fixing a computer that you couldn't fix a while ago. Or perhaps putting a laptop back to working order. That feeling is what keeps me going to be honest. 1
witch Posted February 12, 2018 Author Posted February 12, 2018 My little boy - the centre of my world. Does that count? Also, the first downbeat of whatever concert I happen to be singing/ playing in. the little boy, no, that is a big thing But the downbeat - absolutely - wish I had thought of that! 1
DJ-1701 Posted February 12, 2018 Posted February 12, 2018 The "your Parcel has been successfully delivered" email. Realising it's by Yodel, but they didn't put it on the roof or in a bin this time... Ok, obviously I made that one up. Of course they did. 1
6Foot2 Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Getting all packages to install as their latest versions. I have just completed a round of package updates. All installed software is the current stable release for that product. Previously I had a situation were after checking there was another 'little update' available for one or more of the packages. It worked well enough and the offered updates weren't security fixes. This half term I tackled those little issues and ironed all of them out. I expect one or more of them to have an update very soon. So happy today, though. 1
GiggleKitteh Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 The smell of a proper health foods shop. Sorting buttons (for a charity that sends craft suppies to Africa), a lot more fun than it sounds!!
abillybob Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Closing a heavy wooden door behind you once you've had a stressful day at work. A sunny, dry and warm day. Waking up and still in Pyjamas eating breakfast outside. Fire on, lights dimmed, Friday night and a movie on the sofa with the other half. When you've put a lot of hours into a DIY project and took your time building it. I'll complete it and just stare at it for ages knowing I've built that... When it goes right of course. 1
korifugi Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Saying "Good Morning" and getting a reply from complete strangers when walking the dog in the morning. 2
DJ-1701 Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 The smell of a proper health foods shop... The smell of bacon, the sound of sizzling bacon like rain on a tin roof, bacon. Slamming a heavy wooden door behind you once you've had a stressful day at work. FTFY Saying "Good Morning" and getting a reply from complete strangers when walking the dog in the morning. I do find dog walkers much more politier than normal pedestrians, always a good morning, smile on their face. Something that makes me happy... Pancakes, lemon, sugar, pancake day!!!!
elsiegee40 Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 The sounds of early morning in a campsite from inside a tent as the day slowly starts. Even rain on the canvas when I'm inside warm and dry 1
DalekSec Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Sound of rain on my Velux window while lying in bed.
DeGrimmy Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) Waking up early at the weekend and realising you don't have to get up. Hearing your favourite song start playing on the radio! Edited February 13, 2018 by DeGrimmy 1
3s-gtech Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 I'll concur with that. My cat makes me happy, chubby great ginger fluffball that he is. I can blow raspberries on his tummy without getting my face clawed off, which is fun.
Bedders Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Finally catching a Pokemon that I've been after for ages (There's some other great suggestions I agree with on here, too!) 2
HarryMonkey Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 The sounds and smells of a steam engine. A cup of tea in bed. That feeling of renewed hope from the first signs of spring. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens ..... 1

AMLinington Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 The sounds and smells of a steam engine. Oh yeah - the scent of coal fires and steam vehicles. AMAZEBALLS. I favour 'Claws on Kittehs' <3 1
CJLane Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 When it isn't dark still in the morning! 7AM wake ups make my head feel like it's still 3AM when it's pitch black outside.
witch Posted February 14, 2018 Author Posted February 14, 2018 Watching the sunrise and listening to the birds while walking the dog. It has been lovely to watch it getting lighter in the mornings 1
