We use Parago here and it does what we need. There have been some teething issues, and we've tested and fed back on new features which is always nice to see. It comes with a helpdesk and room booking system which are getting better all the time.

Before buying Parago we also had a demo of every Every school software for contracts, maintenance, assets & procurement : Every Compliance Management which I really liked as well but the SBM went with Parago.

Our Bursar bought School Asset Manager / PS Assets few years back we moved all IT stuff from spreadsheet to it. I've said this year cancel it and i will put everything back to spreadsheet as its just much easier and quicker. The in use low, medium or high thing annoyed me and was too much hassle to change it all once we had been using it.

Very interesting. We had demo of Parago last week but not directly with them. SG World is company that also sales Parago. They didn't mention room booking system and for help desk we would have to pay extra. Did you also pay extra for those features?

Do you also use help desk and room booking?

we don't use them parts - did not not find them flexible enough but they have been updated I think so might be worth another look

We bought direct from Parago, at the time it didn't have the room booking feature but we didn't pay any extra for it or the helpdesk. I think they have changed their system so it is more modular now, but when we bought it we got everything.

I have only used Asset Tiger, so far reasonably impressed. I download a copy of the database as a CSV periodically, just in case.

My only grumble is the App seems to have stopped working, I suspect this is due to the latest iOS updates.

AssetTiger is already set up and hosted (for free) so can be accessed from anywhere and has an app. SnipeIT is $39.99 per month hosted, otherwise you have to download, setup and host yourself and self-manage. Just for that alone AssetTiger is a much better choice. No maintenance or worries if its up to date etc.

I use SnipeIT and have it running on site, it's not a lot of hassle to set up and it works really well. Not got any experience, or even any knowledge of, AssetTiger so can't comment there but give Snipe a whirl if you're comfortable with a bit of command line!

Another vote for Parago, we use it across our Trust and haven't had any problems adding schools as we've grown.

I echo the thoughts of others that they do appear to listen to feedback and make appropriate chances, the agent for each site was easy enough to get into our MDT task sequences as well.

Parago is a bit rubbish, it works ok, but the tech is rather old. Mobile app same, manually syncing, that kind of thing.

We bought it from SGWorld as they'd go around and create the initial inventory for us, but they didn't bother using any bar code scanners, just read numbers out loud to each other, so the result was full of errors.

The Windows sync client is quite good though.

Would recommend Asset Tiger 110% we are paying for Schools Asset Manger / PS Assets but its nowhere near as good as asset tiger. I've linked my label printer to print my own custom QR labels linked to the Asset ID which works a treat, however i think we're going to purchase heavy duty labels from asset tiger too since they are offering a free service.

The mobile app works great, if you scan a QR code that is not assigned it allows you to instantly add a new asset, if it is already assigned it takes you to that asset and displays all the information. My favourite feature is the ability to scan an asset and instantly mark it as "broken", "in for repair" & "disposed of" which then moves the assets to a separate section, makes getting rid of old kit so much easier form an audit point of view!

Anyone using AssetTiger? Anyone had any issues with GDPR compliance?

Assets are not personal data so won't fall under GDPR?

There's signing out functionality so there are names and email addresses.

Moved from PSAssets to Asset Tiger last month. Simple export of data and re-upload into Asset Tiger in the appropriate fields. Still got a loads of SAM tags so can go years before even having to pay a penny for anything now

I inherited a Parago system with an asset list so out of date it would almost have been easier to wipe it and start from scratch, after a year I finally have it looking close to reflecting reality and being useful. Now I am investigating the asset booking modules, which as far as I know came with our bundle. I don't know the cost of the package, but I feel we may as well get the most from it, may even end up using the helpdesk function, but having said this, if you don't use all the parts it may be expensive for just the inventory. In use Parago is a little clunky, not too intuitive to move assets around, but it seems very stable. Definitely worth investigating the free and low cost options IMO and making you own decision based on your exact needs. Good luck !!

I know its an old thread but this information could be useful to someone.

Recently bought INVENTRY , used to be called SchoolAudit.

Seemed that it would do everything I wanted, how wrong was I.

Avoid it like the plague. Awful product, does not even do the basics properly.

Fortunately its fairly cheap so will populate it and move on next year. Lesson learnt.:frusty:

Trying to use parago, surely everyone's who's done an end of year audit has the same problems

1. there's no report of what you've yet to find, had to manually create one with a filter of last audit date > 1 year ago or doesn't exist

2. default reports are missing most useful info

3. the indented reports are useless when I'm trying to do 4 and 5, vlookup etc.

4. done my audit, now all the missing things are in Missing Assets Location, but where were they before? Can I get a report with the old location? Nope

5. they suggest I look at an old run of a report to find their old locations, or manually click each one on the website!

6. Never ran reports needed for 5 previously, and can't run reports backdated

I haven't had an email, but I've just logged in and there is a bill sitting in my account backdated to the first date I ever used the system. I am 100% sure there was no mention of a cost when I started using it. Not impressed.

Left a school a couple of months ago that signed up with Tiger Asset. I'll make enquiries but this is very poor form - let's hope it's just and admin error! Edited by Ditto
