Good morning all, Not sure if I am going about what I want to achieve in the right way but if possible I would like to create a Team into which the members have permission to open and download documents but not edit\upload while the owners retain the right to edit\upload. I am assuming this is done on the SharePoint side after the Team is created rather than on the Team side but cannot quite figure out how to get that balance right. Thank you

@Alex0x7F The above told me what I need to know but now I am just not thinking straight and cannot remember the correct way to mount an ISO to the VM for OS installation. I've added the DVD drive but cannot browse to the ISO because it is in my files outside of the cluster and HyperV\FCM is complaining about that. I don't know how I would have done this before when I created VMs.

Hi all, This is probably me just forgetting where to find it but is there a way to view the location of configuration files for VMs via HyperV or Failover Cluster Manager? Not the virtual disks but the actual settings\config file, I don't think they are in the default location in my case. Just want to know where they are to keep things consistent moving forward. Hiya, Just curious to know if anybody is using a Fortigate 200G appliance, and if so, how it handles your size of organisation and number of users, please? Trying to gauge if it will be up to the job for us as our current non-Fortigate box is end of life next year. Thanks

@TechMonkey @synaesthesia It is just annoying to not have control over what is being posted about us publicly and it is time consuming to have to keep checking the page for updates to ensure they are accurate\relevant or remove them if not. We have evidence to suggest that the posts are coming from an ex-employee who left under circumstances and has posted comments on other social media platforms that could be viewed as slanderous. But yes, in general I know we cannot control what anybody posts about us publicly anywhere really.

@Jawloms We are not having that sort of problem but we have an overly interested historian who used to work here as an apprentice constantly updating the page, all of it true and not particularly damaging but just annoying and not really relevant.

Hi all, Are there any Applicaa users here who have had a problem with using the platform to send "Meetings" to prospective parents with GMail addresses? Our exams and admissions teams setup the "meetings" to prospective parents inviting their child to take the entrance test but all the parents with GMail addresses reported not receiving it, not even in spam or junk. I did not have much to do with the setup of Applicaa but if I remember rightly it does not use our 365 tenancy to send\receive directly. Thanks

@3s-gtech Thanks will also give that a go, although the imaging process is completing 100% Problem appears to be after but maybe a driver installed by MDT is causing the issue at that point.

@DavR Thanks for your reply. In my case it might be better if I test on the wireless because I am seeing the issue on wired. Could be firmware or BIOS, will check this as I seem to recall seeing some updates when running the automated Dell driver check. Perhaps they failed or perhaps I need to run them to a certain level on Windows 10 first before upgrading. Event logs might be difficult to check as even after waiting a long time I cannot get back into the device. Policy troubleshooting steps are sensible, will try those.

Hi all, Hoping somebody can think of something I might be missing here. Having an issue with some laptops after imaging to Windows 11 (via MDT if that is relevant). They hang after a reboot at "Please wait for local session manager". The laptops are slightly older but pass the Windows 11 system requirements according to the PC Health check app and in the case of some of the Dells with this issue, Windows 11 drivers are fully available. To be clear, the MDT task sequence is finishing with no errors and is the same that we use for all devices so I don't think this is the issue. The issue appears to occur after they are moved into the OU that we use for all staff laptops but newer laptops are in that same OU and don't have this issue so I have ruled that out as well unless there is a policy specifically affecting these laptops for some reason. If I put the devices in question back to Windows 10, the issue goes away. I wonder if it could be BIOS, firmware or possibly an Intune device configuration policy because we did migrate some GPOs to that but again these would apply to all laptops and not specific models. Any suggestions welcome at this point. Thanks in advance as always.

Hi all, Figured this might be the best place for a Yondr based question rather than starting a new thread. We are moving to them\that model in September and already this has generated some questions from some departments who have, up until now, trusted GCSE\A-Level students to use their phones in class (can debate right or wrong on that later) for certain tasks. There seems to have been an instant reaction of, throw more tech at it, from, get a set of tablets to add more computers. So I am just wondering if anybody else has found themselves in this position with the mobile phone ban and how, if they were being used in class for work, did you address that issue? @howartp We also use custom groups but most them are historical from before my time so I am hoping I can just get rid and go back to template groups as much as possible. So far we have only seen these groups causing an issue in Next Gen with our Attendance Officer.

@bknaggs The deleting and the pause we tried. Looks like it has something to do with Microsoft Runtimes failing to install, took that out and it works. Maybe the device was restarting after installing them is my best guess.

Hi, I also had it confirmed that there is a known issue with users having what appear to be the correct permissions in SIMS 7 but then getting an error in Next Gen. Also had it confirmed to me about the timetable redirect not going to the person that has just been searched for in SIMS 7 as it only redirects broadly and vaguely to the timetables page as a whole in Next Gen rather than the specific user that you have just viewed in SIMS 7. So Next Gen will always show timetable of user logged in and you have to search for timetable of other user again even though you have just done that in SIMS 7 and been "redirected" 😀

Hi all, I know that ideally we should not be relying on MDT for deployment any more but we are for now and I just cannot work out what is going on with the Windows 10 task sequence. The main issue we seem to have is that the task sequence will just stop on a blank wizard.hta page, seems to only be laptop related as well but the issue is not consistent across makes and models. I was thinking it might be drivers and found an old Reddit thread about the possibility of the machine losing connection to the network. Does anybody have any ideas, please? Thanks

Hi all, When it comes to SARs and proof of identity, what do you all generally ask for? I am thinking that asking for a photo of driving licence or passport might be enough but a cautious part of me thinks, what if somebody had those stolen? So maybe a picture of the person holding their passport or driving licence is a better way. Thanks

Hi all, Does anybody know of a clever way to generate the names of the files skipped when copying a folder and choosing "Do this for all current items" (skip), please? As in, I already know from manually copying the folder from A to B that there are corrupt files in there but I don't want to have to skip each one individually and make a note of the name as I go. Thanks

@Fazza No, I was reading about that and the various switches but I did not want to accidentally start a process of repairing the disk that might make things worse during production hours. Trying to find the safest set of commands to tell me what the issue might be without breaking anything because to the end user there is no issue and I don't want to create one.

Good evening all, Hoping somebody out there has seen this before and successfully dealt with it, the Ntfs event ID in the title comes with the following from the general tab in Event Viewer: "A corruption was discovered in the file system structure on volume <correctnameofvolume>. The Master File Table (MFT) contains a corrupted file record. The file reference number is <somenumbers>. The name of the file is "<unable to determine file name>"." Can share details from the details tab if needed. In our case it seems to have affected a bunch of XML reports in the SIMS DocStorage location but other than that everything appears to be working normally. At this point there are no hardware\drive faults that I am aware of. I guess restoring from backup without the issue is the easiest fix but just wondered about troubleshooting further or resolving without restoring. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
